AIC Tabs Rebecca Tomaszewski as Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse

Tomaszewski Comes to AIC from Millersville.


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – American International has named Rebecca Tomaszewski as head coach of the women's lacrosse program, Director of Athletics Jessica Chapin announced on November 10, 2022.

"We are excited to bring in an up-and-coming coach who has a variety of experiences that we believe will help to grow our women's lacrosse program," Chapin said.

"I would like to thank the Director of Athletics Jessica Chapin and Vice President of Athletics Lou Izzi for the chance to lead the Women's Lacrosse team. I am thrilled to build on the current program and look forward to a successful future in the NE10. I am excited to get on campus, meet the student-athletes, and lead the team into the 2022-2023 season. My goal is to encourage a winning, hardworking, family environment, that fosters positive relationships, a passion for the sport of Lacrosse, and a commitment on the field and in the classroom," Tomaszewski said.

Tomaszewski brings coaching, administrative, and playing experience to AIC. Most recently, she was the graduate assistant coach at fellow NCAA Division II institution Millersville University, a position she took in August of 2021. While there, she assisted with practice and game planning, worked to aid in recruiting, performed internal administrative duties, and aided with both community service and fundraising events. Prior to joining the Marauders, she had served a season as the New England College graduate assistant coach in 2020-21, and as the assistant coach at Louisville High School in Kentucky in 2019-20.

She also spent the summer of 2022 as an intern with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, where she assisted the league office with approval of Name, Image, and Likeness concerns, branding details, and compliance. Further, during the 2019-2020 season, she was an assistant athletic academic advisor at Kent State University, working with academically at-risk student-athletes to help them succeed academically.

A 2020 graduate of Walsh University in Ohio, Tomaszewski earned a degree in professional education, minoring in both business, community and non-profit leadership as well as sports management. She was an Academic All-American in goal for the Cavaliers, playing 33 games over a four-year career and compiling a .451 save percentage. She also served on the Walsh Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was SAAC Senator and Athletic Awards Chair as a senior.
