Cole put together a terrific stretch for the Setters in net last week. The freshman allowed just a single goal and made 13 saves in 175 minutes of action. Cole's 10 saves during a 1-1 draw at Franklin Pierce are the most by a Setter goalkeeper since 2017.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Kayla Mushorn, Adelphi (So, D - Massapequa, N.Y.)
Mushorn assisted on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Southern Connecticut last Wednesday (Sept. 15), the team's first win in nearly 700 days. She played a long ball for teammate Carly Issing, who recorded her first collegiate tally in the process. Mushorn also anchors the right back position for the Panthers, who allowed only one goal in their two matches. She and the Adelphi back line have only allowed three goals through their first four games.
Diana Bruggeman, Assumption (Sr., M - Natick, Mass.)
Bruggeman netted both goals for the Greyhounds in their 2-0 non-conference victory at Georgian Court on Tuesday. She finished the game with five total shots and put four on goal for a .800 shots on goal percentage.
Gabby Calidonio, Franklin Pierce (Fr., GK - Flagler Beach, Fla.)
Calidonio stopped eight of the nine shots on her goal in a 1-0-1 week for the Ravens. On Wednesday, she made six saves to post her third shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over Stonehill. On Saturday, she stopped two of three shots in a 1-1 draw with Pace.
Jasmine Perez-Acosta, Franklin Pierce (Fr., M/F - Cape Coral, Fla.)
Tallied three points, on a goal and an assist, in a 1-0-1 week for the Ravens. Perez-Acosta did all her damage in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Stonehill, when she scored the game-winning goal and later added an assist as well. She attempted nine shots on the week (four on goal), including five (three on goal) in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Pace.
Isabel Villar, Pace (Sr., M - Pomona, N.Y.)
Villar tallied a point in each of the Setters' 1-1 draws last week. She began the stretch with a goal against Le Moyne on Wednesday before registering the assist on Pace's game-tying tally in the 82nd minute at Franklin Pierce on Saturday.
Kate Macaluso, Saint Anselm (Jr, GK - Malverne, N.Y.)
Macaluso registered two wins on the week with a 3-1 win over Daemen and a 1-0 win over Adelphi in overtime. The junior made four saves on the week, including a three-save shutout against the Panthers.
Jenna Braun, Saint Michael's (Fr., GK - Stockholm, N.J.)
Braun made three saves in her college debut on Saturday, backstopping the Purple Knights to a 1-0 overtime win against regionally-ranked AIC.
Elani Gikas, Saint Michael's (Fr., B - Peabody, Mass.)
Gikas aided a defense that allowed one goal in nearly 184 minutes last week against 19th-ranked Southern New Hampshire and regionally-ranked AIC while assisting the game-winning overtime goal on Saturday against the Yellow Jackets. The Purple Knights lost to Southern New Hampshire, 1-0, on Wednesday before claiming a 1-0 win over AIC, allowing only seven shots on goal between the two contests.
Ai Inoue, Southern N.H. (Gr., B - Tokyo, Japan)
Inoue anchored a Penmen back line that allowed just one goal during a 2-0-0 week. The SNHU defense helped the team post dominant numbers in shots (32-7) and shots on goal (18-2). The Penmen, who improved to 5-0-0 for the first time since 1994, had their shutout streak snapped at 347:21 in a 3-1 win over New Haven on Saturday.
