MANSFIELD, Mass. - No. 5 Saint Anselm picked up a 2-1 victory on the road at No. 4 Southern Connecticut on Sunday, while all other top seeds won their quarterfinal matchups in the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Soccer Championship - including top-seeded Saint Rose with a 3-0 shutout victory over No. 8 Southern New Hampshire.

The NE10 Championship semifinals - which are set for Thursday - will be hosted by No. 1 Saint Rose and No. 2 Franklin Pierce. The Golden Knights will face Saint Anselm at 6 p.m. and the Ravens will welcome No. 3 Adelphi at 5:30 p.m. The two winners will play on Sunday in the NE10 Women's Soccer Championship final.

(1) Saint Rose 3, (8) SNHU 0 – Box Score

ALBANY, N.Y. - Saint Rose advanced to the semifinals of Northeast-10 Conference championship tournament behind today's 3-0 quarterfinal victory over visiting Southern New Hampshire today at Sullivan Field.

The top-seeded Golden Knights scored all three goals in the first half and outshot the Penmen 19-4, including 10-1 in shots on goals, to mark the fourth consecutive postseason in which Saint Rose has advanced to the NE10 championship semifinals.

"The team played with great intensity and created some excellent scoring chances. We finished three superb goals in the first half and our defense did well limiting potential opportunities to preserve the shutout. Overall, it was a great team effort," said head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil.

Junior midfielder Carolyn Brussel struck first for the Golden Knights when she headed home a corner kick with 5:34 elapsed in the opening half. Freshman midfielder Emilie Kristensen and sophomore forward Mia Klammer would also tally goals only 4:01 apart in the late stages of the first frame to give Saint Rose a 3-0 lead at the break.

(2) Franklin Pierce 2, (7) Assumption 1 – Box Score

RINDGE, N.H. - The No. 15 nationally-ranked and second-seeded Franklin Pierce women's soccer team and seventh-seeded Assumption packed an entire game's worth of action into the final five minutes of their Northeast-10 Championship quarterfinal match on Sunday afternoon. Chasing a goal for most of the second half, Assumption got an 87th-minute equalizer from sophomore Maya Demello, and it appeared overtime was looming at Sodexo Field. The Ravens had other ideas though, as freshman Jenna Delgado found her first collegiate goal just 61 seconds later, to lift Franklin Pierce to the 2-1 victory.

With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 14-2-2, and advances to host third-seeded Adelphi in the semifinal round on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Sodexo Field, game time to be determined. With the loss, Assumption sees its season draw to a close at 5-6-6.

(3) Adelphi 2, (6) Bentley 1 – Box Score

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - On Sunday, the No. 3 seed Adelphi women's soccer team ended a five-year playoff win drought with a 2-1 result over sixth-seeded Bentley in the quarterfinals of the 2022 NE10 Tournament at Motamed Field.

The Panthers, who improved to 11-4-2 overall, will get their re-match with No. 2 seed Franklin Pierce in the semifinals on Thursday (Nov. 3) in Rindge, N.H.

While the two teams were almost even in shots in the first half, Alexa Mihale accounted for the only shot that stood up through the first 45 minutes. Mihale -- whose last goal came against Bentley back on Oct. 7 -- put home a Dylann Trahey touch from the center of the 18 for the game's opening tally.

The woodwork robbed Adelphi of a couple more tallies throughout the day, but Victoria Colatosti wasn't cheated in the second half. As the clock ticked just below thirty minutes to go, Colatosti made a long run from midfield and tucked a left-footed shot inside the far post to expand the lead to 2-0.

(5) Saint Anselm 2, (4) SCSU 1 – Box Score

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Saint Anselm women's soccer team advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference Semifinals after downing Southern Connecticut by a 2-1 score on Sunday. The fifth-seeded Hawks improve to 10-6-1 on the season while the fourth-seeded Owls drop to 7-7-3.

For the second consecutive season, the Hawks will head to Saint Rose for their NE10 Championship semifinals match. The contest will be on Thursday, Nov. 3 with the start time to be determined.

Saint Anselm has qualified for the conference semifinals for the second consecutive season. The last time the women's soccer program has reached that feat were in the 1994 and 1995 campaigns. The Hawks have posted at least 10 wins in back-to-back seasons which has not been done since the 2005 and 2006 seasons.

Sophomore Erin Rutherford and junior Olivia Gotobed netted one goal each for the Hawks in the Quarterfinal match.
