FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Panthers Receive Nine First-Place Votes.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Adelphi received nine first-place votes and recorded 109 total points to edge Stonehill, the reigning league champion, and finish first in the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Coaches' Poll as the league prepares to welcome back spring competition following last year's COVID-19 shutdown.

The Panthers, an NE10 semifinalist in 2019, have earned the top spot in the poll for the first time since the 2016-17 season. Stonehill received 100 points and a pair of first-place votes to finish second. Southern New Hampshire and Le Moyne came in at third and fourth, with 91 and 85 points, respectively.

Full results from the poll are below.

The NE10 women's tennis schedule was created to address interstate travel restrictions as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the full schedule release, click here.

Adelphi looks to regain its foothold on top of the NE10 standings, as the Panthers won three-straight league titles from 2015-17. In 2019, Adelphi was the No. 1 seed in the NE10 Championship after recording a 9-1 conference record, but fell in the league semifinals to Le Moyne.

The Skyhawks won the 2019 NE10 Championship and will have a chance to create a three-peat of its own this spring. Stonehill has claimed a league-best seven NE10 titles in program history, including championships in each of the past two seasons.

Adelphi and Stonehill will meet on March 28 while the Panthers will take on Le Moyne in an NE10 semifinal rematch on March 21 and April 4. The Skyhawks are scheduled to play the Dolphins on April 18.

The 2021 season begins with league play on Sunday, March 14. The schedule features 10 conference matches for each program, with one open date, and concludes on Sunday, April 18.

The dates for the NE10 Women's Tennis Championship will be announced later in March, along with plans for postseason format, seeding and tiebreakers.
