NE10 Player of the Week
Magdalena Hubickova, Southern New Hampshire
Sophomore | Prague, Czech Republic
Hubickova opened the season by going 6-0 during a 3-0 week for the Penmen, including 3-0 at No. 1 singles. Hubickova was a 6-3, 6-2 winner against Emily Jacy in a 4-0 victory over Saint Anselm on March 14 before blanking Abby Edelmann, 6-0, 6-0, in a 7-0 blanking of Saint Michael's on Wednesday. Hubickova then avenged one of two conference losses from a year ago, toppling former NE10 Player of the Year Julia Chappell, 6-4, 6-4, in Saturday's 7-0 win against Assumption. Hubickova also teamed with junior Alexxa Etienne for a trio of 6-1 triumphs at No. 1 doubles during the week.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Maria Penalver Aguilo, Franklin Pierce
Freshman | Las Palmas, Spain
Aguilo was perfect on the week, going 2-0 at first singles and 2-0 at second doubles. On Wednesday against Stonehill, she won 7-5 at second doubles and notched a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles. On Sunday against Saint Anselm, she won 6-2 at second doubles and 6-0, 6-3 at first singles.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Marta Nunez, Le Moyne (Sr. - Rye, N.Y.)
Nunez went 2-0 at #2 singles and 1-1 in doubles action on Le Moyne's 2-0 week. She blanked her opponent against AIC on Wednesday and clinched Le Moyne's 4-3 win over Adelphi on Sunday with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory.
Fiona Pepper, Le Moyne (Fr. - Challapampa, Peru)
She opened her collegiate career by going 2-0 in singles action and 1-1 in doubles action in Le Moyne's 2-0 week. She was a straight-set winner at #1 singles at AIC on Wednesday and at #3 singles against Adelphi on Sunday.
Madison Blazejowski, Southern New Hampshire (Fr. - Wethersfield, Conn.)
Blazejowski opened her college career with a 5-0 week, including a perfect 2-0 at No. 6 singles, as the Penmen started the season 3-0. Blazejowski cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win against Sarah Knickerbocker in a 7-0 victory over Saint Michael's on Wednesday and then rallied against Jessica Crosby for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 victory in Saturday's 7-0 triumph over Assumption. Blazejowski also combined with three different teammates for wins at No. 3 doubles.
