NE10 Player of the Week

Natalie Kallmunzerova, Southern New Hampshire
Graduate | #1 Singles/#1 Doubles | Prague, Czech Republic

Kallmunzerova turned in a 9-1 record during the three-day ITA East Regional Championships. Kallmunzerova was a perfect 6-0 in singles play as she rolled to the title, including wins over the Nos. 3 and 11 seeds. She also went 3-1 in doubles with partner Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic), but fell in the semifinals. Kallmunzerova also helped the Penmen to a 5-2 victory at New Haven earlier in the week on Tuesday, as she breezed to a 6-2, 6-1 win against Ivana Andric at No. 1 singles.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Isabella Barona, Le Moyne
Freshman | #5 Singles/#3 Doubles | Manta, Ecuador

She advanced to the semifinals at the ITA East Regional after winning a play-in match, then upsetting the #1 seed in the first round and then winning three more matches.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Barbie Quagliardi, Adelphi (Sr., Doubles - Istanbul, Turkey)
Alongside two-time NE10 Rookie of the Week Caterina Federici, Quagliardi advanced to the semifinals of the doubles draw at the ITA East Region Championships this past weekend. As the tournament's No. 2 seed, the tandem, after winning their opening match 8-5, lost only a combined two games in their next two matches to advance to the semifinal round, where they lost a tough 8-4 decision.

Ivana Andric, New Haven (Graduate Student - Griesheim, Germany)
In addition to a first double victory against Southern New Hampshire early in the week, Andric led New Haven at the ITA East Regionals as she advanced to the semifinal round with wins over opponents from Daemen, Post, and Wilmington which pushed her into the round of eight. She then defeated Franklin Pierce's Liria Loria with a tiebreaker victory to advance to the semifinal round. 

Anastasia Kapothanasis, Saint Anselm (Jr. - Westbrook, Maine)
Kapothanasis posted two doubles victories, including one of those against an NCAA Division I opponent, and also logged a No. 1 singles victory on the week for the Hawks. She picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles on Wednesday against Plymouth State and also blanked her No. 2 doubles opponent as well, 8-0. Against Division I Holy Cross on Saturday, she picked up a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles with partner Olivia Parzick.

Cristina Solorzano Valencia, Stonehill (Jr - Morelia, Mexico)
Solorzano Valencia made program history as the highest seed for singles and doubles in program history at the USTA/ITA Division II East Regional this weekend. She and classmate Steffi Antao were the top doubles seed and made program history by reaching the championship match. Also reached the round of 16 in the singles bracket as the No. 3 seed.
