Le Moyne Edges Adelphi for Top Spot.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Le Moyne, the defending regular season champion, narrowly edged Adelphi as the preseason favorite in the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Tennis Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
By the narrowest of margins, Le Moyne took the top spot in the Coaches' Poll – finishing with 73 points and three first-place votes. Despite Adelphi tallying 72 points, five NE10 head coaches think the Panthers will win the league – giving them the most first-place votes of any program.
The Dolphins went undefeated in conference play (10-0) in the 2021 fall season, earning the top seed in the NE10 Women's Tennis Championship. Le Moyne captured its first regular season title in program history and it looks to repeat the performance this fall under head coach Jeff Lonczak.
Close behind Le Moyne and Adelphi was Southern New Hampshire, which recorded 69 points and one first-place tally. Franklin Pierce, the two-time defending NE10 champion, took fourth with 62 points and one first-place vote. New Haven (48 points) and Bentley (42 points) rounded-out the potential field for the NE10 Championship.
