Elizabeth Lincoln

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lincoln Joined Saint Anselm from Colby-Sawyer College.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Elizabeth Lincoln, an assistant coach for the team since the start of last season, has been promoted to head women's tennis coach at Saint Anselm, Director of Athletics Daron Montgomery announced Thursday morning.

Lincoln becomes the 12th person to lead the Hawks women's tennis program since its inception in 1976 and the first female coach of the team since 2016. She takes over the coaching reins from Montgomery, who led the team in an interim capacity for parts of the last two seasons.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to lead the women's tennis program at Saint Anselm," said Lincoln. "We have a great group of young student-athletes who are determined to achieve great things, both on the court and in the classroom. With hard work, we will continue to prove our talent within a highly-competitive conference."

In her first season with the program, Saint Anselm qualified for the Northeast-10 Conference postseason for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign. She was a key part in the recruitment of five student-athletes, including a Third Team All-Conference performer (Camila Heredia Osante) and two All-Rookie teamers (Heredia Osante, Irene Garbo).

"Since coming on board, Liz has been a valuable asset to the team as a member of our coaching staff," said Montgomery. "During the past calendar year, Liz was able to demonstrate an ability to not only teach and coach, but also connect with student-athletes. We are eager to see what Liz can accomplish as the leader of a program that's on the rise."

Joining the Saint Anselm program as an Assistant Coach in January 2022, Lincoln was a long-time assistant at her alma mater, Colby-Sawyer College, since the 2014-15 season where she coached the NCAA Division III women's tennis program.

With the Chargers, Lincoln helped Colby-Sawyer to five consecutive 12-plus win seasons with five consecutive conference postseason titles. Upon joining the program, the Chargers racked up 35 consecutive regular-season victories from 2014-15 through the 2018-19 season. Lincoln was also part of the 2016 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Coach of the Year staff under head coach Barry Schoonmaker.

As a student-athlete at Colby-Sawyer, Lincoln was a two-time NEAC East Division Player of the Year that earned All-Conference honors in each season (singles and doubles), finishing her career with a 63-16 record in doubles play alongside a 44-19 mark in singles competition. The NEAC East Division Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2013 is ranked first in team history with 63 doubles wins and is tied for first in overall match victories (63+44=107).

Off the court, Lincoln is currently employed as an educator in the Manchester, N.H. school district and has been the summer tennis professional at Eastman Community Associations in Grantham, N.H. since 2021. She has previous coaching experience at the recreational, high school, and collegiate levels, holding a 4.5 NTRP rating from the United States Tennis Association while regularly competing in USTA matches.

Lincoln is a 2014 graduate of Colby-Sawyer with a degree in Exercise & Sport Science. Most recently, she earned her master's degree in Educational Leadership from New England College.
