AIC to Host NCAA East Regional.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had five programs selected to play in the upcoming NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship on Sunday night, including American International - the top seed and host of the East Regional. The Yellow Jackets earned the Conference's automatic qualifying bid after winning the NE10 title with a victory over Adelphi earlier in the day.
The quarterfinal round of the East Regional will be played on Thursday at the Butova Gymnasium. Joining AIC from the NE10 ranks are No. 3-seeded Bentley, No. 5-seeded Adelphi, No. 6-seeded Southern New Hampshire and No. 7-seeded Saint Anselm. AIC will play No. 8-seeded Molloy, as it looks to win its first East Regional since 2018.
In the rest of the quarterfinal matchups, Bentley will take on SNHU, Adelphi will meet No. 4-seeded Jefferson and Saint Anselm will play No. 2-seeded Daemen. It is the third time in the past four seasons that the NE10 has had five volleyball programs qualify for the East Regional.
The NE10 looks for its first East Regional champion since American International in 2018 - which was the last of three-consecutive East Region champions for the Conference (2016-18). It is the second-straight year that the Yellow Jackets will serve as host of the regional.
