AVCA ANNOUNCEMENT
Adelphi and AIC with League-High Four Players Selected.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the third time in her storied career, American International's Andrea Serra Rosa earned East Region Player of the Year honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), as the Northeast-10 Conference saw 11 players earn All-Region status from the AVCA and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
Adelphi grabbed a pair of major AVCA honors with Macarty McQueen earning East Region Freshman of the Year and Danielle MacKnight being named the East Region Coach of the Year. McQueen also earned NE10 Rookie of the Year following her first season with the Panthers.
Adelphi and AIC – the two teams that played in the NE10 Championship - tied for a league-best with four All-Region selections each between the AVCA and D2CCA. Bentley added two honorees and New Haven had one.
Five players were recognized with All-Region honors from both organizations, including a trio of D2CCA First Team selections with Serra Rosa (NE10 Player of the Year), AIC's Naomi Eckert Rivera (NE10 Setter of the Year) and Adelphi's Jamie Yonker (NE10 Libero of the Year). AIC's Paola Soto Burgos and New Haven's Macy Brown also earned the distinction.
Serra Rosa ends her AIC career as a three-time NE10 and East Region Player of the Year, as well as the school's recordholder in kills (1836) – fourth-most in NE10 history and first in the 25-point rally era. For MacKnight, it is her second career selection as East Region Coach of the Year in 16 years at Adelphi.

The AVCA, headquartered in Lexington, Ky., is managed by Associations International. The mission of the AVCA is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development. With a membership of over 7,000 and counting, the AVCA provides a professional network for those individuals and companies dedicated to enhancing and promoting the sport.
The D2CCA encourages and promotes DII athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact DII intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA DII member colleges and universities.

The NE10 is an association of 13 diverse institutions serving student-athletes across 24 NCAA Division II sports. Together we build brilliant futures by embracing the journey of every student-athlete.
