AIC Won Second-Straight NE10 Title in 2022.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference had three players – all from American International - earn Honorable Mention All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) last week.
AIC, the two-time reigning NE10 champion, had its trio of Naomi Eckert Rivera, Andrea Serra Rosa and Paola Soto Burgos recognized for their outstanding performances during the 2022 season that led the Yellow Jackets to their third-ever league championship.
Serra Rosa, the thee-time NE10 Player of the Year, finished her career with 1,836 kills – the most in AIC history and the fourth-most in NE10 history (first in 25-point rally era). She finished third in kills this season (353), sixth in kills per set (3.30) and sixth in points per set (3.9). It is her third-straight season as an Honorable Mention All-American.
Eckert Rivera, a two-time NE10 Setter of the Year, led all conference players in assists (1,209) and assists per set (10.79). It is the second-consecutive season that she has earned Honorable Mention All-America status.
Soto Burgos, the NE10 Championship's Most Outstanding Player, finished second in kills (363), third in kills per set (3.49) and second in points per set (4.3). She joined Serra Rosa and Eckert Rivera as First Team All-Conference selections.
