NE10 Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Jason Beaver, AIC
Junior | Agawam, Mass.
Beaver was at the front of the line at the Shacklette Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 11, winning the race in a time of 27:41.7 for his first career collegiate victory.
NE10 Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Bethaney Donnelly, Franklin Pierce
Graduate Student | Manchester, United Kingdom
Finished first on Saturday at the Smith College Invitational, with a 5k time of 18:39, to lead the Ravens to a second-place finish. She also competed at the Mount St. Mary's Duals, finishing seventh in a field of numerous DI runners, and was the top non-George Washington competitor with a time of 19:10.2 in the 5K.
NE10 Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Matt Bartolotta, Le Moyne
R-Freshman | Syracuse, N.Y.
He opened his collegiate career by winning Le Moyne's Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational on Sept. 4 with a time of 19:38.0 over the six-kilometer course. He then placed 14th at the Siena College Invitational on Sept. 11 with a time of 26:42.3 over the eight-kilometer course.
NE10 Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Merciyline Kimaiyo, AIC
Freshman | Eldoret, Kenya
Kimaiyo showed up strong in her first race as a Yellow Jacket. The rookie took second overall at the Shacklette Invitational on Saturday, September 11 with a time of 23:36.0.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Gabe Silva, Adelphi University (Jr. - Mineola, NY)
Gabe Silva paced the Adelphi University men's cross country team to a second place finish at the 39th Annual Shacklette Invitational, placing 9th in the field. Silva completed the 8k race in 28:08.2 with a 5:39.7 per mile pace.
Claudio Rocha, Assumption University (Jr. - Peabody, Mass.)
Rocha finished sixth overall for the men's cross country team at the Bryant Invitational. The Hounds competed against strong Division I teams on Saturday and Rocha crossed the finish line in 15:23.6. He placed first in the first race of the year at Keene State with a time of 15:15.0.
Sam Capobianco, Bentley (Fr. - North Reading, Mass.)
At Saint Anselm's Shacklette Invitational, finished fifth overall with a time of 28.00.1. He was only six seconds out of third and less than 20 out of first.
Wondu Summa, Franklin Pierce (So. - Burlington, Vt.)
Took first place on Saturday at the Smith College Invitational, with a 5k time of 16:14, to lead the Ravens to the meet victory.
Alli Kennealy, New Haven (Jr. - Shelton, Conn.)
Kennealy was part of a pair of Chargers who finished in the top-10 to lead the Blue and Gold to a third place overall finish as a team. Kennealy led all New Haven runners as she closed out the second race of the season in third place overall with a time of 21:31.80 on the 5,000-meter course.
Samantha Pellegrini, Le Moyne (Sr. - Loudonville, N.Y.)
She opened the season by placing fifth at Le Moyne's Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational on Sept. 4 with a time of 16:09.7 over the four-kilometer course. She then placed 31st at the Siena College Invitational on Sept. 11 with a time of 20:11.7 over the five-kilometer course.
Noah Taracena, Saint Michael's (So., - Hampton, N.H.)
Sophomore Noah Taracena (Hampton, N.H.) made his long-awaited college debut on Saturday by placing seventh among 68 runners at the Shacklette Invitational. His time of 28:03.8 during the 8K left him just 3.7 seconds outside the top five. Saint Michael's did not compete during the 2020-21 school year.
Ashley Corcoran, SNHU (Gr. - East Longmeadow, Mass.)
Graduate student Ashley Corcoran won the Shacklette for the second consecutive time, as SNHU repeated as the team champion by a point over American International. Corcoran ran the revamped 6k course at Saint Anselm in 23:29.3.
Jacob Logan, SNHU (Sr. - Norwood, Mass.)
Senior Jacob Logan ran third in the season-opening Shacklette Invitational on Saturday at Saint Anselm College. Logan, who finished ninth in the 2019 race, completed the 8k course in 27:54.7.
Colin Black, Stonehill (Jr. - Hopedale, Mass.)
Led four Skyhawks in the top ten and keyed Stonehill's team victory at the Shacklette Invitational on Saturday. Took second overall as he completed the 8-kilometer course in 27:44.3 for his best career finish by 25 positions.
Rebecca Erhard, Stonehill (Sr. - Wenham, Mass.)
Posted the second-highest individual finish of her collegiate career by taking fourth at Saturday's Shacklette Invitational by completing the six-kilometer course in 24:02.2. It marks her second career top five finish.
