NE10 Player of the Week
Jake Miller, Franklin Pierce
Senior | Catcher | Waltham, Mass.
Through a four-game weekend series with Saint Michael's, Miller cashed in for seven RBI after going 7-of-13 at the plate, additionally contributing five total runs. Of his hit totals, Miller belted a pair of home runs in the Ravens' doubleheader with the Purple Knights on Sunday afternoon, finishing the week with a .538 batting average, a .625 on-base percentage and a 1.154 slugging percentage. Defensively, Miller also contributed a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with three putouts and two assists.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Pat Heber, Bentley
Freshman | Pitcher | Garden City, N.Y.
The lefty was outstanding from the mound in a 14-2 win over Assumption. Heber limited the Greyhounds to four hits and one earned run while striking out a dozen, including 10 swinging, and walking none in seven innings of work. Of the 21 outs in the complete-game performance, 12 came via the strikeout, as he moved to 2-1 on the season.
NE10 Rookie of the Week

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Alec Maag, Adelphi (Sr., C - Center Moriches, N.Y.)
Despite a 1-4 week for the 'Cats, Alec Maag still swung the bat at an impressive .571 clip with two homers and three RBIs. In the team's opening conference series vs. New Haven, Maag played in three games and batted 8-for-11 (.727) with four extra-base hits, which includes two homers and a pair of doubles. In Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader, Maag homered to break the ice and drove an RBI single to help the Panthers to their first conference win of the 2023 season.
Stan DeMartinis III, Bentley (So., LF - Boca Raton, Fla.)
In three games against Assumption, DeMartinis III helped Bentley to a 2-1 record by slashing .444/.615/1.222 with two home runs, 11 total bases, five runs scored and five RBI. He was two-for-four with three runs scored and two RBI in a 14-2 win and was two-for-two with two runs scored, three RBI and two walks in a 5-4 win. DeMartinis III homered in each game and now leads the conference with seven blasts.
Kyle Roche, Franklin Pierce (Jr., RHP - Braintree, Mass.)
The Raven righthander delivered another solid performance on the mound to open a weekend series with Saint Michael's, tossing through six full innings with two runs allowed on five hits, striking out eight total batters with a 12.00 strikeouts per nine innings average. Roche's record improved to 5-0 this season with the win, where he also contributed two assists from a fielding standpoint.
Brody Keneston, Le Moyne (Fr., C/IF - Ballston Spa, N.Y.)
Keneston slashed .600/.600/1.200 with two home runs, five runs scored, four RBI and a stolen base in a sweep of Saint Anselm in a doubleheader on Friday. He went 3-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in a 10-5 win in the opener. He then went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base in a 16-4 win over the Hawks in the nightcap.
Andrew Bianco, New Haven (Sr., 1B/OF - Kings Park, N.Y.)
Bianco led the Chargers to a 4-1 week, including a 3-1 NE10 opening series against Adelphi, hitting .429 for the week with a .762 slugging percentage as he scattered nine total hits across 21 at bats, including a double and two home run. In addition, he drove in eight runs and stole five bases on the week. Among his five games on the week were a pair of three-RBI outings as he opened and closed the series against the Panthers knocking in at trio of runs and finished with a home run in each of those games.
Izaiya Mestre, New Haven (Gr., RHP - Pittsfield, Mass.)
Mestre led the Chargers starting rotation in its NE10 opening series against Adelphi, finishing a five inning outing with a 9-2 victory to improve to 2-0 on the season. In his five innings of work he surrendered a single earned run while allowing five hits and striking out four batters.
Matt Collins, Saint Anselm (Sr., IF - Beverly, Mass.)
Collins collected four hits in 11 at-bats in three games last week. The senior belted a pair of home runs and worked two walks in a 12-7 non-conference win over Southern New Hampshire before recording two hits in a non-conference doubleheader against Le Moyne. Collins posted a slash line of .364/.533/1.000 in the three games and collected three runs batted in and worked three walks.
Nick Guarino, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., LHP - New Haven, Conn.)
Against Assumption, Guarino was masterful over six innings on the mound, holding the Greyhounds to a single unearned run, while giving up just three hits and striking out eight.Guarino was the story of the day as he kept the Greyhounds off-balance all afternoon. After giving up a two-out single in the first, Guarino retired the next seven batters he faced before giving up a lead-off single in the fourth. He then sat down the next six batters he faced, three by strikeout.
Billy Sullivan, Southern Conn. St. (So., C/OF - Valley Cottage, N.Y.)
Sullivan was 0-for-3 with a walk but drove in a run and scored two more against Assumption. He followed with a monster game against AIC in a 21-13 barn burner, going 5-for-6 with two doubles, a triple and five RBI while also scoring four runs in the Owls' win.
Nick Schwartz, Southern N.H. (Jr., C/DH - Massapequa, N.Y.)
Schwartz hit .526 (10-19) with five RBI, seven runs scored, five extra-base hits and three walks, while slashing .526.591.789, during a 4-1 week for the Penmen. Schwartz had multiple hits in four of the five games, as well as an extra-base hit in three of them. He was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 11-5, game-one victory at American Int'l. He then wrapped the series against the Yellow Jackets on Sunday by going 5-for-8 with three RBI and four runs scored in the two wins.
