NE10 Player of the Week
Eddy Beauregard, Bentley
Senior | First Base/Pitcher | Paxton, Mass.
Beauregard had a .500/.545/.889 slash line while helping Bentley to a 3-2 week in Florida. He had multiple hits in four of five games, the lone exception coming in a 22-2 win over Alliance, and drove in a total of ten runs, including four in an 11-9 win over Adelphi. Beauregard also homered during a two-hit, three-RBI afternoon against St. Cloud State. The week also included Beauregard pitching the Falcons to a 4-1 win over Caldwell. In six innings, he allowed five hits and one run. Beauregard leads the NE10 in slugging, is tied for the lead in home runs, and is second in batting average and on base percentage. Beauregard also earned a win on the mound for the Falcons, allowing just one run on five hits across six innings in a victory over Caldwell.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Jeffrey Praml, Southern New Hampshire
Senior | Pitcher | Bridgewater, N.J.
Praml allowed three runs - one earned - on seven hits, while striking out seven and walking four, in a complete-game performance on Friday, as the Penmen defeated Goldey-Beacom, 4-3.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Owen Pincince, New Haven
Freshman | Outfield/Pitcher | North Haven, Conn.
Pincince finished with an .800 average, connecting on eight hits in 10 at bats. Among his eight hits was a pair of doubles, while he drove in four runs and scored four times. The rookie outfielder finished with three hits each against Lynn and Adelphi and wrapped up the week with a pair of hits against Bridgeport. His four RBI came split evenly against the Panthers and Purple Knights, while he also scored twice in each of those games.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Kiernan Caffrey, American International (So., OF - South Windsor, Conn.)
Caffrey was AIC's most consistent player in a six-game week for the Yellow Jackets with four multi-hit games. He had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four against Palm Beach Atlantic to open the week, and also went 2-for-5 with two runs batted in in AIC's victory at Lynn. He had 10 hits and nine RBI across a 1-5 week for the Yellow Jackets.
Jared Berardino, Assumption (Jr., OF - Rowley, Mass.)
Berardino has continued his hot streak to begin the year. The left fielder went 5-for-7 with four RBI in two seven-inning games at Bridgeport while also extending both his hitting streak and RBI streak to four games. Berardino currently leads the NE10 in batting average (.491), hits (27), and RBIs (23) while sitting second in doubles (8), homeruns (4), and slugging percentage (.855).
Joseph Pesce, Franklin Pierce (Sr., OF - Lake Mary, Fla.)
Across a blemish-free 3-0 week for the Ravens, Pesce recorded a team-leading six hits in 13 at bats, including two doubles, for an .462 batting average. Along the way, the senior outfielder delivered three RBI for the Ravens, adding in a stolen base and six trips across home plate himself. In addition to his batting average, Pesce also concluded the week with a .563 on base percentage and a .615 slugging percentage. From the field, Pesce threw in nine total putouts with no errors for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
Thomas Eletto, New Haven (Gr., OF/RHP - Locust Valley, N.Y.)
In his only appearance of the week, Eletto finished five innings on the bump allowing just a single run to earn the victory against in-state rival Bridgeport in the Chargers home opener at Frank Vieira Field. He also added four strikeouts while surrendering four hits and walked one batter.
Patrick Gleason, Pace (Sr., P - Valhalla, N.Y.)
Gleason pitched seven strong innings in a 3-1 win over Mercy. He allowed one run (unearned) on three hits while striking out seven, as part of a 4-1 week for the Setters.
Benjamin Tullo, Pace (Fr., INF - Wappingers Falls, N.Y.)
Tullo hit .353 at the plate in a 4-1 week for the Setters, which included six hits - one of which was a home run as part of his three-hit and five-RBI game against Mercy in a 13-0 victory. He also stole three bases during the week.
Ryan McGee, Saint Rose (Sr., OF - Schenectady, N.Y.)
McGee reached base six times in eight at-bats out of the leadoff spot in the Golden Knights two wins against Saint Anselm on Saturday. McGee tallied three hits, three walks, three runs, and two steals, while also driving in a run to help Saint Rose sweep the doubleheader over the Hawks.
Chase Tucker, Saint Rose (So., P - St. John's, Newfoundland)
Tucker claimed the victory on the mound in the Golden Knights game one win over Saint Anselm on Saturday, as the right-hander struck out eight while scattering five hits and one run over 7.0 strong innings.
Tommy Benincaso, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., RHP - Flemington, N.J.)
Benincaso picked up a pair of wins this week against Molloy and American International. Against American International, Benincaso was brilliant on the mound for the Owls as he held the Yellow Jackets to two runs, only one of which was earned, on two hits over eight innings. Benincaso struck out five as he picked up his third-straight win.
Danniel Rivera, Southern N.H. (Jr., SS - New Britain, Conn.)
Rivera hit. 438 (7-16) with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored, while slashing .444/.625/1.069, during a 1-3 week for the Penmen. Rivera went 2-for-4 in three of the four games, scored a run in three of four and knocked in a run in two of the four.
