NE10 Player of the Week

Marty Silvera, Southern Connecticut
Sophomore | Guard | Worcester, Mass.

In a pair of convincing wins against Adelphi and Saint Rose, Silvera averaged 18 points, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 56% (14-25) from the floor and 70% (7-10) from three-point range. Against Adelphi in an 82-56 win, Silvera totaled 16 points, three assists and three rebounds while hitting on 3-for-4 from three-point range and 6-of-11 from the floor. Against Saint Rose in a 96-72 win, Silvera had a game-high 20 points with six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Silvera knocked down 8-of-14 from the floor and 4-of-6 from three-point range.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Latiek Briscoe, Saint Rose
Freshman | Guard | New York, N.Y.

Briscoe averaged 12.7 points per game on 44.4 percent shooting across a 2-1 week for Saint Rose. Briscoe reached double figures in both conference matchups this week, as the guard tallied 18 points on Tuesday against Southern New Hampshire and 15 points on Saturday at Southern Connecticut State.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Isiah Gaiter, Assumption (Jr., G - Meriden, Conn.)
Gaiter averaged 14.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over two games this past week for the Greyhounds. 

Zach Laput, Bentley (Jr., G - Beacon Falls, Conn.)
In a 2-0 week for the No. 20 Falcons, the conference scoring leader averaged 19 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting .444 overall, 6 of 12 from three and 8 of 10 at the charity stripe. He has 20 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 73-67 win at Pace and 18 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in a 75-72 win over Adelphi. That included the first six points of a game-ending 9-0 run to overcome a six-point deficit.  

Sean Bresnan, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F - Yonkers, N.Y., 02)
In a 2-0 week for the Ravens, Bresnan led the way with 34 total points (17.0 per game), including a 20-point performance against Caldwell University on Saturday. In 64 minutes logged, Bresnan shot 11-of-22 (50.0%) from the floor, pulling in 11 rebounds off the board and six assists.

Quashawn Lane, New Haven (Sr., G - Trenton, N.J.)
Lane led the Chargers to a 2-1 record last week, averaging 16.3 points while shooting 68 percent for the week. He opened up the week with a 19-point performance, making 8-of-10, including a trio of three pointers, while dishing out six assists and picking off two steals in a conference win over Assumption. He would go on to average 15 points in a pair of conference games against Bloomfield and Chestnut Hill. In addition to his 16 ppg, he also finished the week with 10 assists, five steals and a pair of blocks. 

Bryan Powell, Pace (Sr., F - Middletown, N.Y.)
Powell averaged 16.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Setters, including a win over Bridgeport. 

Matt Becker, Saint Anselm (Jr., G - Fairfield, Conn.)
Becker's steal and score with just over 10 seconds left in regulation time pushed Saint Anselm past American International on the road, 58-56, on Thursday. He finished with 13 points, hauling in 11 rebounds and dishing out six assists in the well-rounded effort. 

CJ Crews, Saint Michael's (So., G - Tampa, Fla.)
Crews averaged 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals during a two-game week on the road, hitting all 13 of his free throw tries. In a 66-40 loss to regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce on Wednesday, he totaled 11 points (6x6 FT), two assists, two steals and a rebound before turning in 21 points - including 19 in the second half - of an 83-82 loss at Bloomfield on Saturday. Crews shot 6-for-13 overall and 7-of-7 on free throws while adding six rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Eric Fleming, Saint Rose (Jr., F - Burlington, N.J.)
Fleming helped the Golden Knights to a pair of wins this week behind averages of 15 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. In Thursday's victory against Goldey-Beacom, Fleming shot 11-for-19 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from deep, to register a career-high 31 points.
