NE10 Player of the Week

Miles Tention, Saint Anselm
Senior | Guard | Palo Alto, Calif.

Tention aided the Hawks to a 1-1 week, averaging 30.5 points per game in a non-conference loss to Post and a conference win over nationally-ranked Bentley. In the win over the Falcons, Tention netted a career-high 35 points and eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark. Between the pair of games, Tention shot 48.7% from the floor and was a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line. Defensively, he grabbed 12 boards, dished five assists, and collected four steals.

NE10 Rookie of the Week

Kazell Stewart, Southern Connecticut
Sophomore (Rookie Eligibility) | Forward | East Hartford, Conn.

Stewart led the Owls with 16 points per game in a 1-1 week. Stewart dropped 20 on Caldwell in the Owls first win of the season on 9-of-10 shooting while also grabbing six boards. Against SNHU, Stewart had 10 points, 5 rebounds, two blocks and two steals.

NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Isiah Gaiter, Assumption (Jr., G - Meriden, Conn.)
Gaiter poured in 21 points in both games this week, as he shot 53.6 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from long range. He filled the stat sheet, as he averaged 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.  

Zach Laput, Bentley (Jr., G - Beacon Falls, Conn.)
In the Falcons' conference opener at Saint Anselm, Laput had 26 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two assists during a 78-73 loss. He made 8 of 12 shots overall, half of his eight three-pointers and all six of his free throws. 

Sean Bresnan, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F - Yonkers, N.Y.)
In a single matchup this past week versus Assumption, the Raven junior notched a career-best 25 points while going 9-of-13 (69.2%) from the floor. In 34 minutes played, Bresnan also chalked up 11 rebounds with 3 assists for his first double-double of the young season, helping the Ravens to a 1-0 week.

Davontrey Thomas (Jr., F - Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
Thomas averaged a team-best 19.5 points per game over a two-game week for the Chargers. He opened up the 2022-23 season with 20 points in a road game at Saint Michael's. He would close out that game shooting 8-of-14 from the field, including four three pointers, while also grabbing three rebounds and dishing out a pair of assists. In the home opener against Adelphi, Thomas put up 19 points on the day, finishing 7-of-11 from the field, again with four three pointers, while adding a rebound and an assist against the Panthers.

CJ Crews, Saint Michael's (So., G - Tampa, Fla.)
Crews averaged 19.0 points (54.2% FG, 8x16 50.0% 3PT), 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 offensive rebounds during a 2-0 week. In a 75-74 win over regionally-ranked New Haven, the NE10's preseason favorite, on Wednesday, Crews totaled 23 points (7x11 FG, 5x8 3PT), four assists and one rebound before turning in 15 points (6x13 FG, 3x8 3PT), five rebounds, four offensive boards and four assists in a 78-70 victory against Saint Rose on Saturday.

Ethan Okwuosa, Southern N.H. (So., G - New Haven, Conn.)
Okwuosa averaged 14.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 block per game, while shooting 52.4 percent (11-21) from the floor and a perfect 5-for-5 from the line, during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Okwuosa notched his first career double-double with 14 points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3-FG, 5-5 FT), 15 boards, five assists, a steal and blocks in Wednesday's 81-69 victory at Molloy. He then added 15 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3-FG) and nine rebounds in a 58-57 win at Southern Connecticut on Saturday.
