NE10 Player of the Week
Philipp Herrmann, Southern New Hampshire
Sophomore | Forward | Bruckmuehl, Germany
Herrmann scored two goals during a 1-0-1 week for the Penmen. Both goals came in a 2-0 victory over Adelphi in the NE10 opener Saturday. Herrmann opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal late in the eighth minute and struck again in the 23rd minute.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Rafa Escobedo, Southern New Hampshire
Graduate Student | Defense | Santander, Spain
Escobedo played a big role on the back line during a 1-0-1 week for SNHU. The defense limited opponents to just one goal one nine shots, highlighted by a 2-0 victory against Adelphi in which the Penmen outshot the Panthers, 19-0. Escobedo also collected an assist on the second goal against Adelphi.
NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Lucas Morales-Fernandez, American International
Senior | Goalkeeper | Amherst, Mass.
Morales-Fernandez was a wall for AIC in a pair of nine-save showings, conceding just one goal across two games. He had to be that strong as AIC itself only scored once. Among his ties was a 0-0 shutout against Mercy, the 11th of his career.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Ronnie Riby-Williams, Saint Michael's
Freshman | Forward | Montpelier, Vt.
Riby-Williams made his college debut with a goal and an assist on Saturday in a 2-0 win over Assumption. After providing the primary assist on a ninth-minute tally, Riby-Williams scored an insurance goal in the 24th minute.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Augustus McGiff, New Haven (So., M/F - Brookhaven, N.Y.)
McGiff finished a two-game week for the Chargers with three points, adding his second goal of the season and assisting on one other. He opened up the week with a first half goal in a non-conference game at Jeffereson and then added his first point in NE10 play when he provided the pass on the equalizing goal scored by Sean Lane-Turnbull against Saint Anselm in the NE10 opener.
Zach Verow, Saint Anselm (Sr., F - Bedford, N.H.)
Verow tallied three points for the Hawks on the week, recording an assist against Maine-Fort Kent and scoring his first goal of the 2023 season in a 2-2 draw with New Haven. In six starts this season the senior has tallied five points on a goal and three assists.
Liam Barrett, Saint Michael's (Sr., GK - Saugus, Mass.)
Barrett turned in a 0.67 GAA with a .900 save percentage last week, stopping nine shots and yielding one goal in 135 minutes. During a second half of relief on Tuesday at Saint Thomas Aquinas, Barrett made four saves on five shots on goal before turning in a five-save shutout of Assumption, 2-0, on Saturday.
Devin Juan, Southern Conn. St. (Jr., GK - Meriden, Conn.)
In the Owls' NE10 opener at Saint Rose, Juan stopped all four of the Golden Knights' shots on goal in a 1-0 win. For the week, Juan stopped six of eight shots in a 1-1 slate against Queens and Saint Rose.
Preston Neal, Southern N.H. (Jr., G - Windham, N.H.)
Neal stopped three of the four shots he faced during a 1-0-1 week for the Penmen. Neal made three saves in Wednesday's 1-1 tie with Bridgeport and then did not need to make a save in Saturday's 2-0 shutout of Adelphi.
