Garden City, N.Y. - The 2011 NCAA Career in Sports Forum took place June 12-15, 2011, at the Downtown Marriott in Indianapolis, Indiana.  More than 1,100 student-athletes were nominated and after review by the NCAA selection committee, 303 student-athletes were selected to participate in 10 sport-specific coaching tracks and one administration track. Among the 303 student-athletes chosen to participate were Adelphi'sCorey Green, Erika Loomer andAngel Ortega.

"The conference was great. I definitely learned a lot and they split us up into small "teams" where we worked together on a bunch of ideas and really focused on our personal brand and who we are," Loomer stated when asked about the conference. "It was nice to learn about myself and think about what I do well and what I can do better. The sessions on administration itself were helpful, and I was really intrigued by the student-athlete affairs piece and leadership development and I think that is something I want to bring back to Adelphi."

The coaching track included the following sports for the 2011 Forum: cross country/track and field, basketball, field hockey, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. The administrator track covered the internal and external operations of an intercollegiate athletics department, which included, but was not limited to: academics, communications, compliance, development, event management, and marketing.
