JESSICA DAVOS NAMED WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH; STEPHANIE REILLY APPOINTED INTERIM CROSS COUNTRY / TRACK & FIELD COACH

SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant University Department of
Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce the appointments of
Jessica Davos as women's lacrosse coach and Stephanie Reilly as
interim head cross country / track & field coach. The
announcement was made today by Athletics Director Bill Smith. Davos
replaces Karen Rife who took a similar position at Wagner College
last month. Reilly replaces Trish Hillery who resigned to pursue
other career opportunities.
Davos, a 2002 graduate of Syracuse University, comes to Bryant
from Bentley College where she was the head women's lacrosse coach
in 2007. While at Bentley, Davos helped lead the Falcons to their
best season since 2000 with an 11-6 overall mark. Improving the
team by four wins from the Falcons' 7-8 record the previous
season.
Bentley would finish third in the Northeast-10 Conference
standings with an 8-2 conference record and reached the NE-10
Conference Tournament Championship this past May. A total of four
student-athletes garnered Northeast-10 All-Conference recognition
with two selected all-region and one recognized as an All-American
by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Prior to arriving at Bentley, Davos was an assistant women's
soccer and lacrosse coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
A native of Albany, N.Y., Davos (formerly DeRosa) played four
years of varsity lacrosse at Syracuse, where she majored in English
and textual studies. Among her career highlights was scoring the
game-tying goal to force overtime in the ECAC championship
semifinals against Boston University. During her career, the Orange
posted and impressive 44-19 record with three NCAA tournament
appearances. She will begin her duties August 20.
Reilly previously served as an assistant coach with the Bryant
Cross Country and Track & Field teams this past year. A 2001
graduate of Providence College, she was a member of two New England
Championship teams in 1998 and 1999 and one BIG EAST Conference
Championship team in 1997. Named indoor track team captain in 2000
and outdoor captain in 2001, she was an NCAA provisional qualifier
in the 3000 meters in 1998.
A native of Ireland, Reilly was a three-time Irish national
champion in the 800 meters, 1500m and 3,000m in high school and
represented the Irish national team at the European Junior
Championships. In 2004, she received her masters degree in Guidance
and Counseling from Providence College.
