Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Jayne Vagenas, UMass Lowell (Sr., D, Harwich, Mass.) - Named the
2007 NE-10 tournament MVP after playing a key role in UMass Lowell
winning its fifth straight tournament title. Anchor of a defensive
unit that allowed just two goals and 11 shots in two games.
Recorded an assist in the 2-1 in over Saint Michael's and scored a
goal in a 5-1 win over Bentley in the championship match.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Danielle Dodier , UMass Lowell (Jr., GK, Kensington, N.H.) - Earned
the win in each match as UMass Lowell won its fifth consecutive
NE-10 tournament championship. Had two saves in the two games.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Liz Day, UMass Lowell (Fr., F, North Andover, Mass.) - Scored a
goal and earned an assist in the 5-1 win over Bentley in the NE-10
championship match.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Courtney Bartlett, Bentley (So., M , Brunswick, Maine) - Was named
to the Northeast-10 All-Tournament Team after scoring game-winner
on a penalty stroke, and also picking up an assist, in a 2-0
semifinal win over Saint Anselm.
Shana Libman, Bryant (Sr., M, Attleboro, Mass.) - Scored Bryant's
lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Saint Anselm in the NE-10
quarterfinals.
Jill Tierney, UMass Lowell (Jr., F, Newburyport, Mass.) - Recorded
four points during the NE-10 tournament with all points coming in
the championship match. Scored a goal and picked up two assists in
the 5-1 win over Bentley.
Sam Rowe, Saint Anselm (Jr., F, Chelmsford, Mass.) - Finished the
week with one goal and one assist, including the game-winning goal
in the NE-10 Tournament Quarterfinals, to help the Hawks advance to
their first-ever Northeast-10 Tournament Semifinals.
Andrea Slaven, Saint Michael's (Jr., F, Danvers, Mass.) - Scored a
game-winning goal 9:34 into the first overtime of a 2-1 win at
Stonehill in the quarterfinals and scored the lone goal against
UMass-Lowell in a 2-1 semi-final loss.
Jordan Smalling, Saint Michael's (Jr., GK, Essex Jct., Vt.) -
Recorded 14 saves on the week, including 10 on 24 Stonehill shots
in a 2-1 overtime quarterfinal win. Made four saves in the 2-1
semifinal loss to UMass-Lowell.
