Colchester, Vt. - Recent Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey graduate Tully LaBelle-Hamer added another accolade to his resume last week, as he was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Capital One Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team.
LaBelle-Hamer, who graduated magna cum laude on May 16 with a 3.89 Grade Point Average and a degree in electrical engineering, is one of just two student-athletes from a Northeast-10 Conference institution named to the prestigious team.
LaBelle-Hamer was named to the College Division District I Second Team. The College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools, while District I comprises all organizations and institutions from the six New England states, New York, and the Canadian provinces Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec. At-large eligible men's sports include: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
Earlier this month, LaBelle-Hamer received the Roger F. Keleher '15 Memorial Award, presented annually to the outstanding male and female scholar-athletes in Saint Michael's graduating class. LaBelle-Hamer also received the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award for men's ice hockey last month.
A defenseman, LaBelle-Hamer skated in all 27 games for Saint Michael's as a senior, and set a career-high with seven assists and eight points. He garnered NE-10 Academic All-Conference honors, and received multiple NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Dean's List, and ECAC East All-Academic Team accolades. He also is a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma and Pi Mu Epsilon national honor societies, and a Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges selection.
