Southern Connecticut Men and Women Take 2005 Northeast-10 Swimming and Diving Titles

New Haven, Conn. Southern Connecticut won the Northeast-10 Conference men's and women's swimming and diving championships for the third straight season as the two-day meet concluded Saturday at Hutchinson Natatorium.

Coach Tim Quill's men's team scored 1,292 points in the seven-team competition with Le Moyne second at 580 points and Bentley third with 569.50 points. St. Rose finished fourth (515.50) followed by St. Michael's (236), Bryant (209) and Pace (146).

In the women's competition, the Owls scored 991 points. Le Moyne was second with 766 and Bentley was third with 745 points. St. Rose placed fourth with 393, St. Michael's was fifth with 235, Pace scored 212 points to place sixth and Bryant was seventh with 202 points.

Southern sophomore Ali Bronson was selected as the meet's outstanding female diver and senior John Wood was the men's outstanding diver for the third straight season.

Will Chidsey of Le Moyne was selected as the outstanding male swimmer while the Dolphins' Alison Lesher was the outstanding female swimmer.
