Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Keith Gill, Stonehill (Jr., Brockton, MA) - Ran the fastest time in the mile nationally in Division II to date against primarily Division I competition at the Boston University Invitational. Shattered the school record with a time of 4:07.22 to automatically qualify for NCAA National Championships as the top Division II entrant in the event (ninth overall behind eight Division I runners).

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Nicole Plante, UMass Lowell ( Sr., North Adams, MA) - Posted the second-fastest time in the country and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 5,000 meters at the Boston University Terrier Classic. Ran the course in 16:57.69, just five seconds off her own school record, and placed 10th overall and tops among Division II-III runners.

Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week

Mike Malinowski, UMass Lowell (Fr., Peabody, MA) - Placed sixth overall and tops among Division II-III runners in the 1,000 meters at the Boston University Terrier Classic with a time of 2:30.75.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Bridget DeVincent, Stonehill (Fr., Attleboro, MA) - Placed third in the 3,000 meters at the Boston Indoor Games, posting a time of 10:15.22 in the event.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Robert Keizer, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Great Neck, NY) - At the Metropolitan championships, placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 49 feet, five inches, passing the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Toni-Marie Henry, UMass Lowell (Sr., Springfield, MA) - Placed fifth overall and tops among Division II-III athletes in the long jump at the Boston University Terrier Classic. Posted a distance of 17' 7.0''. Also placed 15th overall (first in Division II-III) in the 400-meter dash in 58.66 seconds.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week

Jacqui Barrett, UMass Lowell (Fr., Woburn, MA) - Placed third overall and tops among Division II-III throwers in the shot put at the Boston University Terrier Classic. Threw for a distance of 41' 0.5'', just behind Jamila Smith of Dartmouth (43' 8.0'') and Jazmine Fenlator of Rider (47' 1.75'').

Weekly Honor Roll:


Caitlyn Clark, Assumption (Gr., Worcester, MA) - Won the 3,000-meter event with a time of 10:39.64 at the Wesleyan Invitational.

Joe Kowalczyk, Assumption (Gr., Wilbraham, MA) - Won the shot put event with a winning distance of 14.34 m (47-00.57) at the Wesleyan Invitational.

Molly O’Connell, Assumption (So., Sandy, UT) - Won the shot put event with a distance of 12.32 m (40-05.00) at the Wesleyan Invitational.

Dan Darcy, Bentley (Fr., Sharon, MA) - At the Boston University Terrier Classic, finished eighth in the 1,000 meters, with a time of 2:33.54.

Hafiz Greiger, Bryant (Jr., Attleboro, MA) - Placed first overall in the 200-meters in 21.93 seconds and took home second place in the finals of the men's 55-meters in 6.48 seconds at the Wesleyan Invitational.

Nicole Radzik, Bryant (Jr., Sutton, MA) - Took top honors in the 5,000 meters in a time of 18:35.92 at the Wesleyan Invitational and was part of the medley relay team that took first place in a time of 13:31.23.

Andre Campbell, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, MA) - Placed fifth overall and tops among Division II and III entries in the triple jump at the Boston University Terrier Classic with a distance of 45' 2.5''.

Doug Caves, UMass Lowell (Fr., Oxford, MA) - Broke the school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 400-meter dash at the Boston University Terrier Classic. Top collegiate finisher (third overall) with a time of 47.52 seconds, the second-fastest time in the country thus far.

Clint Cooper, UMass Lowell (Sr., Raynham, MA) - Placed 10th overall and third among Division II-III runners in the 400-meter dash at the Boston University Terrier Classic. Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship with a time of 48.30.

Andrew Grange, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, MA) - Placed seventh overall and second among Division II--III runners in the 400-meter dash at the Boston University Terrier Classic with a time of 48.03 seconds. Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship.

Letecia Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Plainfield, NJ) - Passed the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard while winning the 60-meter hurdles in 8.87 seconds at the Metropolitan championships.

Collin Walsh, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Bethany, CT) - At the Metropolitan championships, placed second in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:28.96.
Symone Wong, Southern Connecticut (So., Laurelton, NY) - Passed the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard at the Metropolitan championships, placing fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.74 seconds.

Dana DeIngenis, Stonehill (Sr., Cranston, RI) - Was the top Division II performer in the mile at the Boston Indoor Games, posting a 14th place finish in the event with a time of 5:06.30.

Tyler Guilmette, Stonehill (So., East Longmeadow, MA) - Set a pair of school records in the long jump (22 feet, 1/2) and triple jump (42 feet, 7 inches) at the Boston Indoor Games, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively in the events.

Torrey Price, Stonehill (So., Sleepy Hollow, NY) - Shattered own school record in the 55-meters with a time of 6.38 seconds in the event at the Boston Indoor Games, provisionally qualifying for NCAA Championships in process.

UMASS LOWELL:
Six more UMass Lowell athletes joined the list of provisional qualifiers for the NCAA Championship Friday and Saturday at the Boston University Terrier Classic, three of which in the men's 400 meter dash. Freshman Doug Caves (Oxford, MA) earned automatic qualification and shattered the UML 400 record with a time of 47.52 seconds, placing third overall and tops among collegiate runners. The result surpassed the previous school record of 47.65 set by current UMass Lowell senior Clint Cooper, who placed 10th in Saturday's race and provisionally qualified for the NCAAs with a time of 48.30 seconds. Joining them will be sophomore Andrew Grange (Methuen, MA), who placed seventh in 48.03. Also qualifying from the men's side was junior Joey DeWitt (Ellsworth, ME), who ran the mile in 4:12.66 and placed 18th overall and third among Division II-III runners; and sophomore Ruben Sanca (Boston, MA), who qualified in the 5,000 meters in 14:52.18, placing 13th overall and second among II-III entries. On the women's side, senior Nicole Plante posted the second-fastest time in the country in the 5,000 meters (16:57.69) and provisionally qualified for the NCAAs. In the meet, Plante placed 10th overall and first among the II-III contingent.
