Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Brandon Beloin, Stonehill (Sr., Danielson, CT) - Posted a winning
and a school-record time in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles at
the MIT Spring Co-Ed Invitational with a mark of 53.97 seconds and
was also part of the school-record effort in the 4 X 400 relay with
a time of 3:21.83.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Nicole Pankey, Assumption (Sr., Portsmouth, RI) - Accumulated 28.50
points at the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational to help the
team to a third place finish in the event. Won the 100-meter race
(13.25), 200-meter race (27.59), and ran the second leg of the
winning 4x100 relay team (52.43). Finished third in the triple jump
with a distance of 33 feet, 3.25 inches (10.14m).
Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week
Donte Brown, UMass Lowell (Fr., Raynham, MA) - Won two events at
the MIT Coed Invitational. Captured the 110 meter high hurdles in
15.11 seconds and also ran a leg on the 4X100 meter relay team
which placed first in 41.62 seconds.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week
Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (Fr., Marshfield, MA) - Ran a leg on
the 4X400 meter relay team which placed first at the MIT Co-Ed
Invitational in 3:59.70. Also placed third in the 400-meter hurdles
in 1:05.66.
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Joe Kowalczyk, Assumption (Gr., Wilbraham, MA) - Won the shot put
with a distance of 47 feet, 10 inches (14.58m) and the discus with
a distance of 141 feet, 2 inches (43.03m) at the Connecticut
College Silfen Invitational. Accumulated 20 points in the
event.
Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Molly O’Connell, Assumption (So., Sandy, UT) - Accumulated 20
points at the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational to help the
team to a third place finish in the event. Won the shot put with a
distance of 39 feet, 1.25 inches (11.92m) and the discus with a
distance of 125 feet, 10 inches (38.36m).
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week
Jeremy Singleton, Pace (Fr., Hamburg, NJ) - At the Silfin
Invitational, finished 2nd in the javelin throw with a toss of
51.10m - 167-08, falling short of winning the event by 0.83
meters.
Northeast-10 Women’s Co-Field Freshmen of the Week
Olivia Thibou, UMass Lowell (Fr., Boston, MA) - Won the triple jump
at the MIT Co-Ed Invitational with a distance of 35' 11.5''.
Meghan Rocha, Stonehill (Fr., Nashua, NH) - Took top honors in the
discus at the MIT Spring Co-Ed Invitational with a mark of 114
feet, 7 inches.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Kevin Chan, Bentley (Jr., Newton, MA) - At the MIT Invitational,
finished first amongst 17 in the discus with a throw of 136 feet,
one inch. Also, was fourth of 19 in the shot put (44 feet, 9.75
inches).
Rebecca Ciccarelli, Bentley (So., Natick, MA) - At the MIT Co-Ed
Invitational, finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of
1:00.30 a PR by 1.3 seconds. Also, ran the leadoff leg on the 4x100
relay team that finished fourth with a time of 50.66 seconds.
Stephan Ramirez, Bentley (Jr., San Antonio, TX) - Finished first
amongst collegians, and second of 20 overall, with a time of
15:23.74 in the 5,000 meters at the MIT Co-Ed Invitational.
Hafiz Greigre, Bryant (Sr., Attleboro, MA) - Broke his own school
records at the MIT Invitational, running a 10.63 in the 100 meters
and a 21.02 in the 200 meters.
Nicole Radzik, Bryant (Sr., Manchaug, MA) - Broke a 23-year school
record, by 32 seconds, placing second in the 5000-meters in
18:21.97 at the MIT Invite.
Nicole Plante, UMass Lowell (Sr., North Adams, MA) - Placed first
and broke her own school record in the 1,500 meters at the MIT
Co-Ed Invitational. Posted a time of 4:42.64, surpassing her
previous mark of 4:42.91.
Nate Potter, UMass Lowell (Sr., Wyoming, RI) - Placed second
overall and tops among collegiate throwers in the hammer while
provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championship at the MIT Co-Ed
Invitational. Posted a distance of 176' 7.0'', currently 17th on
the NCAA Division II list.
Ruben Sanca, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, MA) - Won the 1,500 meters
at the MIT Co-Ed Invitational in 3:57.52.
Mike Cebula, Southern Connecticut (Sr., White Plains, NY) -
Finished the 1500 in second place with a time of 3:51.14, which was
a NCAA provisional time at Princeton. The finish was the second
fastest time in school history.
Sasha Mathelier, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Uniondale, NY) - Came
in second place in the pole vault at 3.51 meters, which qualified
her for the New England Championships. Also took the sixth spot at
14.74 in the 100 meter hurdles at the 2007 UCONN Outdoor
Invitational.
David Metzger, Stonehill (Jr., Ellington, CT) - Set a school record
in the 5,000 meters against primarily Division I competition at the
Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational with a time of 14:57.21.
Andrea Topalis, Stonehill (Fr., Simsbury, CT) - Placed second in
the 10,000 meters at the MIT Spring Co-Ed Invitational with a time
of 39:24.
Vinnie Williams, Stonehill (Sr., Springfield, MA) - Set a school
record with a second place finish in the 200 meters (21.59) and
also recorded second place performance in the 100 meters (10.83) at
the MIT Spring Co-Ed Invitational. Was also part of the school
record effort in the 4 X 400 relay team's time of 3:21.83.
Weekly Notes:
STONEHILL: Five Skyhawk school records fell during
competition over the weekend at both the M.I.T. Spring Coed and
Princeton Larry Ellis Invitationals. Senior Dana DeIngenis
(Cranston, R.I.) improved her NCAA provisional qualifying time in
the 1,500 meters against primarily Division I competition at
Princeton, while fellow senior Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.)
placed 14th in the 5,000 meters at Princeton against a primarily
Division I field.
