Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Hafiz Greigre, Bryant (Sr., Attleboro, MA) – Named the
Northeast-10 Male Athlete of the Year and placed first in the
100-meters (10.72) and the 200-meters (21.39) at the Northeast-10
Championship. Also finished second in the long jump with a jump of
23 feet, 0.75 inches.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete and Freshman of
the Week
Letecia Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Plainfield, NJ) - Swept
the hurdles events at the Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field
Championship. Took first in the 100 and 400-meter events with times
of 14.50 in the 100 and 1:03.48 in the 400 meters. Was also named
Most Valuable Athlete of the Meet.
Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week
Donte Brown, UMass Lowell (Fr., Raynham, MA) - Named the
Northeast-10 Conference Freshman Athlete of the Year and won two
events at the Northeast-10 Championship. Captured the 400 meter
hurdles in 53.54 seconds and ran a leg on the 4X400 meter relay
team which finished first and set a facility and Northeast-10
records with a time of 3:18.26.
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Al Williams, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Meriden, CT) - Was named
the Most Valuable Athlete of the meet after taking first place in
the high jump with a jump of six feet five and a half inches. Also
earned seventh place in the long jump with a distance of 20 feet
4.5 inches and second in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet
4.25 inches.
Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Thatcha DaCosta, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Englewood, CT) - Took
three top finishes at the Northeast-10 Outdoor Track & Field
Championship. Earned first place in the long jump with a distance
of 17 feet 11.75 inches, second in the triple jump with a leap of
38 feet 2.25 inches and third in the 200 meter dash with a time of
26.81 seconds.
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week
Tom Kilby, Stonehill (Fr., Fall River, MA) - Captured conference
title in the javelin at the Northeast-10 Championship with a mark
of 177 feet.
Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week
Meghan Rocha, Stonehill (Fr., Nashua, NH) - Finished second in the
discus (116 feet, 11 inches) at the Northeast-10 Championship.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Joe Kowalczyk, Assumption (Gr., Wilbraham, MA) - Finished third in
the shot put with a career-best throw of 50’00.75”
(15.26m) at the Northeast-10 Championship to qualify for the New
England Invitational meet. Placed second in the discus with a throw
of 141’7” (43.15m) to earn Northeast-10 second-team
all-conference.
Molly O'Connell, Assumption (So., Sandy, UT) - Finished second in
the shot put with a career-best throw of 42’00.75”
(12.82m) at the Northeast-10 Championship to earn Northeast-10
second-team all-conference and qualify for the New England
Invitational. Also finished fourth in the discus
(114’9”/34.98m).
Brooke Perron, Assumption (Jr., Hubbardston, MA) - Finished third
in the 800-meter with a career-best time of 2:21.64 at the
Northeast-10 Championship.
Barbara Powell, Bentley (Fr., Granby, MA) - Captured the
Northeast-10 championship in the 1500 meters, leading a 1-2 Bentley
finish in the event with a time of 4:48.78. Also finished 8th of 15
in the 800 with a time of 2:30.48.
Christina DaLomba, UMass Lowell (So., Marstons Mills, MA) -
Captured the 800 meters at the Northeast-10 Championship for the
second straight year with a time of 2:18.67.
Mike Davis, UMass Lowell (Sr., Burlington, MA) - Won the shot put
at the Northeast-10 Championship and set a 29-year-old school
record with a distance of 51' 7.0. Surpassed the previous mark of
50' 10.0'' set by Joe Brice in 1978.
Andrew Grange, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, MA) - Won the 400 meter
dash at the Northeast-10 Championship with a time of 47.98
seconds.
Toni-Marie Henry, UMass Lowell (Sr., Springfield, MA) - Captured
the triple jump for the second straight year, set a facility record
and provisionally qualified for the NCAA’s at the
Northeast-10 Championship. Leaped a distance of 39' 9.25'' to break
her own facility record of 39' 6.75'' set in 2006.
Nicole Plante, UMass Lowell (Sr., North Adams, MA) - Named the
Northeast-10 Female Athlete of the Year for the second straight
year at the Northeast-10 Championship. Captured the 3,000 meters
and set a Northeast-10 record with a time of 9:58.83. Eclipsed her
own Northeast-10 record of 10:27.04 set in 2004.
Nate Potter, UMass Lowell (Sr., Wyoming, RI) - Captured the hammer
at the Northeast-10 Championship, improved his NCAA qualification
standing and set both Northeast-10 and facility records. Recorded a
throw of 180' 6.0'', the 16th-best mark in Division II, and bested
the facility mark of 179' 1.0'' and the Northeast-10 record of 178'
10.0''.
Rex Radloff, UMass Lowell (So., Dedham, MA) - Won the 10,000 meters
at the Northeast-10 Championship with a time of 32:36.01.
Ruben Sanca, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, MA) - Won the 5,000 meters
at the Northeast-10 Championship with a time of 15:47.39.
Jeremy Singleton, Pace (Fr., Hamburg, NJ) - At the Northeast-10
Championship, finished in fourth place in the javelin throw with a
toss of 48.41m - 158-10, garnering four of the team's seven
points.
Ashley Wallace, Pace (Sr., Oswego, NY) - At the Northeast-10
Championship, finished ninth in the shot put with a toss of 11.08m
- 36-04.25 and took 8th place in the discus throw with a throw of
30.92m - 101-05.
Joe Coleman, Saint Rose (Fr., Albany, NY) - Finished sixth in the
800-meter run at the Northeast-10 Championship after crossing the
line in 1:58.36.
Evan Lane, Saint Rose (So., Sharon Springs, NY) - Recorded the top
finish for a Saint Rose competitor at the Northeast-10
Championship. Placed third in the discus with a toss of
41.66-meters to establish a personal-best.
