Albuquerque, N.M. - University of New Haven women's track and field sprinter Shannon Gagne won her second and third NCAA Division II National Championship titles on Saturday evening in Albuquerque at the national meet. Fresh off Friday's victory in the long jump, the senior won the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes on Saturday.

Gagne posted a time of 54.03 seconds in the 400-meter, more than one-second faster than the second place finisher. She then competed in the 200-meter later in the evening, and posted a time of 23.66 seconds.

After day one's championship in the long jump at a distance of 5.95-meters, Gagne had earned 30-points for New Haven in the meet's team standings, placing the Chargers third at the time of her final race.

With her long jump title, Gagne became the first National Champion in New Haven track and field history. She also earned All-American honors in all three events, becoming a six-time All-American, another New Haven record.
