Northeast-10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Hafiz Greigre, Bryant (So., Attleboro, MA) - Won both the men's 100 meters and 200 meters at the Rhode Island College Invitational. Took first in the 100m in 10.70 seconds and first in the 200m in 21.70. Both times meet New England Championship qualifying standards.

Northeast-10 Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Natasha Stevenson, Bryant (Jr., Haverhill, MA) - Set two school records at the Rhode Island College Invitational, winning the 100 meters in 12.30 seconds and the 200 meters in 26.00. Both times are also New England Qualifying times.

Northeast-10 Men's Track Freshman of the Week

Tyrone Joseph, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Norwalk, CT) - At the SCSU Invitational, finished second in the 100-meter dash (11.24), was also second in the 200-meter dash (22.44), and ran the anchor leg for the 4x100-meter relay team, which finished second (41.83).

Northeast-10 Women's Track Freshman of the Week

Brittany Robinson, UMass Lowell (Fr., Gardner, MA) - Won the 1,500 meters at the Trinity College Bantam Invitational. Posted a time of 4:24.15, more than 15 seconds faster than the rest of the field.

Northeast-10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Jeff Cretella, Southern Connecticut (Sr., East Haven, CT) - Qualified provisionally for nationals in the shot put, winning the SCSU Invitational in his last competitive home appearance with a toss of 17.37 meters (56 feet, 11 inches). Also competed in the discus, finishing tied for 14th.

Northeast-10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Randi Cuccaro, Southern Connecticut (Gr., Oxford, CT) - Finished second in both the hammer throw (45.42m) and javelin (41.33m) at the SCSU Invitational on Saturday. Qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championships in the javelin.

Northeast-10 Men's Field Freshman of the Week

Marc Cooke, Saint Rose (Fr., Williston, VT) - Set a school record in the triple jump (40 ft., 6.75 in) to take second place in that event at the Middlebury Invitational. Also finished second in the long jump (19 ft., 9 in.) and was 11th in the javelin (125 ft., 4 in.).

Northeast-10 Women's Field Freshman of the Week

Bernice Morales, Southern Connecticut (Fr., New Haven, CT) - Won the javelin at the SCSU Invitational, improving her provisional qualifying distance to 41.89 meters.

Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:

MEN:

Patrick Biggins, Assumption (Jr., Worcester, MA) - Participated in a school-record 12 events and scored 36.25 points at the Worcester City Championships. In four track events, finished fourth in the 100 meters (11.77), seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (20.53), ran the anchor leg of the third place 4x100 meter relay team (45.88), and ran the opening leg of the fourth place 4x400 meter relay team (3:43.81). Finished second in the triple jump (41'8"), third in the long jump with a career-best distance of 20'3.5", fourth in the pole vault (10'00"), and fifth in the high jump (5'8"). Placed eighth in the shot put (34'7"), eighth in the javelin throwing a career-best 126'4", eleventh in the discus (26.48 meters), and twelfth in the hammer (18.91 meters).

Kevin Chan, Bentley (So., Newton, MA) - At the Rhode Island College Invitational, finished first in the shot put (152'2") and set a personal best in the discus (132'1") while finishing second.

Stephan Ramirez, Bentley (So., San Antonio, TX) - Finished first in the 1500 meters at the Rhode Island College Invitational with a time of 4:01.5.

Mike Nessralla, Bryant (Sr., Halifax, MA) - Captured first place honors in the men's discus throw on Saturday at the Rhode Island College Invitational with a mark of 144 feet, 6 inches. He also took fifth in the men's hammer at 137-02 and second in the shot put at 42-11.75.

Clint Cooper, UMass Lowell (Jr., Raynham, MA) - Won the 400 meter dash at the Trinity College Bantam Invitational with a time of 48.13 seconds.

Rocky LeFort, UMass Lowell (So., Nashua, NH) - Captured the shot put at the Trinity College Bantam Invitational with a toss of 47' 0.5''.

Brian Mason, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Mount Vernon, NY) - At the SCSU Invitational, won the 100-meter dash (11.20 seconds), finished third in the 200-meter dash (22.49) and ran a leg for the 4x100-meter relay team which finished second (41.83). Helped the Owls to a third place finish in the team standings, behind only Army and Yale. Of the 13 participating schools, 10 were Division I.

Keith Gill, Stonehill (So., Brockton, MA) - Placed second in the 1,500 meters against predominantly Division I competition at the Southern Connecticut Invitational with a time of 3:59.67.

WOMEN:

Nicole Pankey, Assumption (Jr., Portsmouth, RI) - Finished first in the 100 meters (13.51) and third in the 200 meters (28.47). Ran the opening leg of the second place 4x100 meter relay team (43.32) and the second leg of the third place 4x400 meter relay team (4:32.97) in the Worcester City Championships. Also finished first in the triple jump (33'4.25"). Amassed a personal record and a team best 29.5 points in the meet.

Melissa Nash, Bentley (Fr., Marshfield, MA) - At the Rhode Island College Invitational, finished first in the 3000 meters (11:09.5) and was second in the 1500 (5:00.8).

Amber Torrey, Bryant (So., Plainfield, NH) - Torrey took home first place honors in the women's shot put at RIC over the weekend with a mark of 34 feet, 7 inches and added a third place finish in the discus at 94-08. - Rank: 3

Enjoli Edwards, UMass Lowell (Sr., Philadelphia, PA) - Won the shot put at the Trinity College Bantam Invitational with a throw of 41' 8.25. - Rank: 3

Toni-Marie Henry, UMass Lowell (Jr., Springfield, MA) - Won three events at the Trinity College Bantam Invitational. Won the 100 meter dash in 12.74 seconds and captured the triple jump with a distance of 38' 6.75''. Was also a member of UML's 4X100 mete relay team which captured the title in 47.80 seconds.

Caylie Kachinski, Pace (So., Palmer, MA) - Had a record performance for the Setters. In the 400-meter dash, she took 22nd place out of 34 runners to set a school record time of 1:07.28. Finished seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 8.73 meters and leaped a height of 1.30 meters in the high jump, attaining eighth place, both setting school records.

Ashley Wallace, Pace (Jr., Oswego, NY) - At this weekend's Wagner Invitational, broke the school record for the 100 Meter dash for the 6th time in her career with a time of 13.61. Also finished 5th out of 27 in the Discus Throw with a distance of 32.08 meters. Wallace rounded out her day with a 2nd place finish in the Shot Put with a distance of 10.52.

Mary Lewis, Saint Rose (Jr., Roxbury, MA) - Finished first in the long jump (16 feet, 3 inches) and was also a member of the women's 4x100-meter relay team which placed fourth with a time of 56.85 at the Middlebury Invitational.

Koreena Glanville, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Brooklyn, NY) - Won the 400-meter dash at the SCSU Invitational with a time of 57.08, 0.33 seconds faster than the runner-up from Boston College. Nine of the 11 competing teams were Division I programs.

Dana DeIngenis, Stonehill (Jr., Cranston, RI) - Placed sixth in the 1,500 meters against primarily Division I foes at the Southern Connecticut Invitational, posting time of 4:42.22.

ASSUMPTION: Assumption participated in the annual Worcester City Championships last Saturday. Nine athletes recorded personal bests in their events. Sophomore Kristina Fox (Smithfield, RI/Smithfield) threw a career-best distance of 92'1" in the javelin; freshman Alyssa Gaglione (Cranston, RI/LaSalle) had a personal-best time of 2:46.90 in the 800-meter race; freshman Jen Gonet (South Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) finished fourth in the shot put with a career-best distance of 31'8"; senior Melissa Lalli (Bradford, MA/Haverhill) recorded two personal-bests on the afternoon, throwing the javelin 112'8" to finish third and throwing the shot put 30'5" to finish seventh; sophomore Brooke Perron (Hubbardston, MA/Quabbin) ran a career-best 2:30.25 in the 800-meter race to place third; sophomore Morgan Tobin (Coventry, RI/Milford) threw the javelin a personal-best 91'2". Junior Patrick Biggins (Worcester, MA/South) had a career-best in two events (long jump, 20'3.5"; javelin, 126'4"); Freshman Joe Capuano (Stoneham, MA/Stoneham) also had a career-best in the javelin, throwing it 144'3" to claim fourth place in the event; Senior Kevin Cusack (Braintree, MA/Braintree) ran a personal-best time of 11:33.70 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Sophomore Brian Caccavale (Hopedale, MA/Marian) finished first in the high jump (6'00"). Senior Casey Hatten (Medfield, MA/Medfield) finished second in the 400-meters (52.69)… BENTLEY: At the Rhode Island College Invitational, Bentley athletes won six events. They were juniors Meg Bouchard (Hebron, Conn.) in the 1500 (5:00.5) and Sean Burbank (Mystic, Conn.) in the javelin (152-2), sophomores Stephan Ramirez (San Antonio, Texas) in the 1500 (4:01.5) and Kevin Chan (Newton, Mass.) in the shot put (43-6), and freshmen Melissa Nash (Marshfield, Mass.) in the 3,000 (11:09.5) and Mark Zurio (North Haven, Conn.) in the triple jump (37-7.25)… UMASS LOWELL: UMass Lowell added one more student-athlete among its NCAA Championship provisional qualifiers Saturday at the Trinity College Bantam Invitational. Senior Esia Johnson met the standard in the triple jump as she placed second with a distance of 38' 6.25''. Johnson joins six individual qualifiers as well as one relay team who have met NCAA provisional standards in only two meets thus far. Senior Patrick Morasse was among six athletes to qualify at the Miami Hurricane Invitational on Mar. 18 as he met the standard in the 1,500 (3:51.56) and the 800 (1:51.49) while junior Clint Cooper qualified in the 400 meter dash (47.70). Cooper is also part of UML's 4X400 meter relay team which qualified with a time of 3:13.86. On the women's side, junior Toni-Marie Henry met the provision in the triple jump (38' 8.0'') at the Hurricane Invitational while senior Julie Handy qualified in the 100 meter hurdles (14.48 seconds) and junior Nicole Plante in the 3,000 meters (9:58.94)… SAINT ROSE: The College of Saint Rose outdoor track and field program return to varsity status following an eight year hiatus on Saturday at Middlebury College…Saint Rose will also take part in the Bryant Invitational this weekend… STONEHILL: Against mainly Division I competition, the Stonehill men placed sixth and the Skyhawk women tied for ninth at the Southern Connecticut Invitational on Saturday, as sophomore Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) and junior Brandon Beloin (Danielson, Conn.) posted second place performances on the men's side in the 1,500 meters and 400 meter hurdles, respectively. Juniors Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) and Tim Catoggio (Bradford, Mass.) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 meters and 3,000 meter steeplechase, while sophomores David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) and Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) were sixth in the 1,500 and 5,000 meters, respectively...Freshman Ashley Lane (Needham, Mass.) was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles, while junior Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) finished sixth in the 1,500 meters on the women's side to complete the Stonehill scorers on the afternoon.
