Northeast-10 Men’s Athlete of the Week

Steve Plouffe, UMass Lowell (Jr., Methuen, MA) - Placed seventh out of 255 and second among scoring runners at the UMass Dartmouth Buddy Harris Invitational. Covered the five-mile course in 25:24, maintaining a 5:05 per mile pace, and led UMass Lowell to third place.

Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week

Adam Holmes, Merrimack (Fr., Abington, MA) - Led Merrimack to a first-place finish at the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm, finishing the 8k course second in 27:52.

Northeast-10 Women’s Athlete of the Week

Alison Lesher, Le Moyne (So., Sherrill, NY) - Finished ninth in the college division of the National Catholic Cross Country Championship at Notre Dame. Covered the 5k course in 19:37 to help Le Moyne to a fourth-place finish.

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week

Sarah Merullo, UMass Lowell (Fr., Wakefield, MA) - In collegiate debut, placed 17th among 264 runners at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. Ran the 5K course in 19:23 and helped UMass Lowell place sixth among 35 teams.

Northeast-10 Men’s Weekly Honor Roll:

Brian Burlas, Assumption (Jr., Shrewsbury, MA) - Finished eighth at the Shacklette Invitational with a time of 28:52.

Adam Evans, Bentley (Jr., Skaneateles, NY) - Was Bentley’s number two runner at the Shacklette Invitational, placing fifth overall with a time of 28:35.

Scott McGrath, Bentley (Fr., Francestown, NH) - Was Bentley’s number one runner at the Shacklette Invitational, placing fourth overall with a time of 28:21 for 8,000 meters.

Caleb Paul, Bryant (Sr., Addison, ME) - Helped lead the Bryant men's cross country team to a fifth-place finish at the Fordham Invitational Saturday with an 18th-place finish overall. Paul crossed the line in a time of 28:30.

Alan Waters, Bryant (Fr., Clinton, MA) - Helped Bryant to a fifth-place finish at the Fordham Invitational over the weekend with a 29th-place finish overall. Was Bryant's third runner to cross the line, finishing in a time of 29:44.

Jefferson Welch, Merrimack (Fr., Haverhill, MA) - Helped Merrimack claim the Shacklette Invitational title at Saint Anselm, finishing in third place in 27:53.

Greg Kwasnik, Saint Anselm (Sr., Westborough, MA) - Led the Shacklette Invitational from the opening gun and finished in a time of 27:05, 47 seconds better than the second place runner, to lead the Hawks to a third place finish.

Paul Wagner, Saint Michael's (Sr., Woods Hole, MA) - Helped the Purple Knights secure their third place finish at the Middlebury College Invitational, finishing the race fourth overall with a time of 27:45.4.

Pat Cullen, Saint Rose (So., Staatsburg, NY) - Led Saint Rose with a 20th place time of 28:57.05 over 8K at the Fordham Fiasco. His performance marked the second fastest clocking on that course by a Saint Rose male within the past 10 seasons.

Sean Griffin, Southern New Hampshire (Gr., Methuen, MA) - Finished first among SNHU runners and placed sixth overall with a time of 28:44 at the Saint Anselm Shacklette Invitational.

Northeast-10 Women’s Weekly Honor Roll:

Caitlyn Clark, Assumption (Sr., Worcester, MA) - Won the Shacklette Invitational with a time of 20:01 to help her team to a second place finish in the event.

Meg Bouchard, Bentley (Jr., Hebron, CT) - Finished fourth overall at the Shacklette Invitational, with a time of 20:32 over the 5,000-meter course.

Melissa Nash, Bentley (Fr., Marshfield, MA) - Was Bentley’s top finisher and the number two runner overall at the Shacklette Invitational, covering the 5,000-meter Saint Anselm course in 20:06.

Erin Vollmuth, Bentley (Fr., Blue Point, NY) - Finished third overall at the Shacklette Invitational, with a time of 20:23 for 5,000 meters.

Nicole Radzik, Bryant (So., Sutton, MA) - Finished 20th overall individually at Saturday's Fordham Invitational in leading the Bulldogs to an eighth-place finish. Crossed the line in a time of 21:12.

Kim Fahner, Saint Michael's (Fr., Rowayton, CT) - Came in 16th place overall at the Middlebury College Invitational, completing the race in 21:54.3.

Joanne Smith, Saint Rose (Fr., Monroe, NY) - Crossed the line in 21:53.68 to place 28th among 77 entries at the Fordham Fiasco.

Joelle Ingram, Saint Rose (Jr., Derry, NH) - Covered the 5K course in 21:42.82 to finish 27th among 77 participants at the Fordham Fiasco.

Bryant The Bryant men finished in fifth-place at the Fordham Invitational on Saturday with senior Caleb Paul (Addison, ME) leading the way with an 18th place finish. Nicole Radzik (Sutton, MA) was the top finisher for the Bryant women, crossing the line in 20th…Bentley Three freshmen ran very well in their collegiate debut, helping Bentley to a strong showing at the Shacklette Invitational, the women repeating as champs and the men placing second. Melissa Nash (Marshfield, Mass.) and Erin Vollmuth (Blue Point, N.Y.) finished 2nd and 3rd for the women, and Scott McGrath (Francestown, N.H.) was the top runner for the Bentley men, placing fourth overall. The Bentley women had six of the top seven runners in the race…Le Moyne Alison Lesher covered the 5k course at Notre Dame in 19:37 to finish ninth and help Le Moyne to a fourth-place finish among the college division entrants at National Catholic Cross Country Championship. Lesher's time was one of four Le Moyne runnners in the top 50 of the 21-team event. Jacquelyn Rappa was 29th with a time of 20:11, Colleen McMahon crossed 32nd in 20:15 and Connie Pernisi finished in 20:36 to capture 44th place…Merrimack Merrimack's men's cross country team won the five-team Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm on Saturday with 39 points, 17 ahead of second-place Bentley. The win is the first team title for the Warriors since winning the Bryant Invitational on Sept. 20, 2003. The Warriors were led by freshmen Adam Holmes and Jefferson Welch, who finished in second and third, respectively. The Warrior women finished fourth, with sophomore Laura Beatty leading the way with an 11th place finish…

Saint Anselm At the 2005 Shacklette Invitational, the Saint Anselm women were paced to a third-place finish by sophomore Laura O’Reilly’s (Fallsville, CT/ Housatonic Reg.) eighth place finish with a time of 21:10. Nobody came close to Saint Anselm senior Greg Kwasnik (Westborough, MA/ Westboro) who led from the opening gun and finished in a time of 27:05, 47 seconds better than the second place runner, to lead the Hawks to a third place finish.
