Northeast-10 Men’s Athlete of the Week

Pat Cullen, Saint Rose (So., Staatsburg, NY) - Established as only the fourth Saint Rose runner within the past 10 seasons to break 27-minutes for an 8K event. Crossed the line in 26:37.3 at the 39th annual UAlbany Invitational, which featured nine Division I squads.

Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week

Jacob Edwards, Southern Connecticut (Fr., North Stonington, CT) - Placed third at the Big Obowski Invite at Sherwood Island in Westport, CT, hosted by Fairfield University. Ran the 6K course in 20:08 as Southern topped Division I teams.

Northeast-10 Women’s Athlete of the Week

Meghan Barrett, Stonehill (So., Norfolk, MA) - Paced Skyhawks with 21st place finish at Williams Plansky Invitational in covering 2.5 mile layout in time of 15:58.

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week

Joanne Smith, Saint Rose (Fr., Woodbury, NY) - Ran the eighth fastest 5K time within the past 10 years for Saint Rose by running a season-best 19:47.1 at the 39th annual UAlbany Invitational, which featured nine Division I squads.

Northeast-10 Men’s Weekly Honor Roll:

Dan Bryant, Assumption (Fr., Bloomfield, CT) - Finished 21st overall at the Williams College Invitational, leading team to a third place finish in the event.

Jared Hoffman, UMass Lowell (Jr., Nashua, NH) - Placed 23rd in a field of 100 at the Williams College Plansky Invitational Saturday. Ran the 6K course in 20:17.

Brandon McKinnon, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, MA) - Placed third among 100 runners at the Williams College Plansky Invitational Saturday. Ran the 6K course in 19:55, his best effort of the season.

Thomas Lichtenberger, Saint Michael's (Jr., Bloomfield, CT) - Placed fourth in the Purple Knights' four-team meet on Friday, finishing the eight kilometer race in 26:15.

Lionel Welch, Saint Michael's (Sr., Worthington, MA) - Came in 14th out of 56 runners, finishing the race in 27:27.

Brad Lewis, Saint Rose (So., Troy, NY) - Ran a personal best 27:16.6 at the 39th annual UAlbany Invitational which featured nine Division I squads. Represents the fifth best 8K performance by a Saint Rose runner within the past 10 years.

Michael Cebula, Southern Connecticut (Jr., White Plains, NY) - Led the Owls to the team title at the Big Obowski Invite at Sherwood Island in Westport, CT, hosted by Fairfield University. Ran the 6K course in 20:04 as Southern topped Division I teams.

Dickie Gerry, Stonehill (So., Bow, NH) - Paced 13th-ranked Skyhawks with sixth place individual finish at Williams Plansky Invitational, covering 3.7 mile layout in time of 20:10.

David Metzger, Stonehill (So., Ellington, CT) - Placed seventh individually for Skyhawks at Williams Plansky Invitational with time of 20:10 over 3.7 mile layout.

T.J. Smith, Stonehill (Sr., East Bridgewater, MA) - Posted eighth place individual finish for 13th-ranked Skyhawks at Williams Plansky Invitational in covering 3.7 mile course in time of 20:10.

Northeast-10 Women’s Weekly Honor Roll:

Amanda Sousa, UMass Lowell (So., Peabody, MA) - Placed 21st in a field of 115 runners at the Williams College Plansky Invitational Saturday. Finished the 4K course in 15:58.

Kim Fahner, Saint Michael's (Sr., Westminster, VT) - Finished in 19th place out of 45 runners, with a five kilometer time of 20:32.

Courtney Richard, Saint Michael's (So., Holliston, MA) - Finished 20th, with a final time of 20:42.

Joelle Ingram, Saint Rose (Jr., Derry, NH) - Ran a personal best 20:24.2 at the 39th annual UAlbany Invitational which featured nine Division I squads.

Jackie Oates, Stonehill (Fr., South Easton, MA) - Recorded 30th place individual finish for Skyhawks at Williams Plansky Invitational, posting time of 16:30 over 2.5 mile layout.

Lauren Eynatian, Stonehill (Jr., Chelmsford, MA) - Placed 24th individually for Skyhawks at Williams Plansky Invitational with time of 16:01 over 2.5 mile layout.

Erin Smith, Stonehill (Sr., Brockton, MA) - Posted 23rd place individual finish for Skyhawks at Williams Plansky Invitational with time of 16:01 over 2.5 mile course.

Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

Bryant The Bryant cross country team was idle this past weekend in preparation for hosting the 2005 Northeast-10 Conference Cross Country Championship on Sunday at the Bryant Cross Country Course…UMass Lowell With its fifth-place showing in last week's New England Championship, the UMass Lowell men inched to No. 7 in the latest NEICAAA poll, and was tops among Division II and III schools. The UML women, which placed 20th at the New Englands last week, currently rank No. 24 and second among Division II schools…Stonehill Both Skyhawk squads tuned up for defense of their respective Northeast-10 crowns with solid performances at the Williams Plansky Invitational, as the 13th-ranked Stonehill men placed second and the Skyhawk women were third in the overall team competition. The Stonehill women seek their sixth straight conference title on Sunday morning at Bryant, as the Skyhawks' current title streak is second in league history only to Springfield's run of 12 straight crowns in the 80's and 90's. The Stonehill men are looking to repeat as conference champions after copping their first league title last October at Saint Michael's.
