Northeast-10 Mens Athlete of the Week

Patrick Morasse, UMass Lowell (Sr., Lowell, MA) - Placed first and earned Runner of the Year honors at the Northeast-10 Championship at Bryant. Ran the five-mile course in 26:38.8 and led UMass Lowell to second place.

Northeast-10 Mens Freshman of the Week

Ruben Sanca, UMass Lowell (Fr., Boston, MA) - Placed sixth and earned Freshman of the Year honors at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at Bryant. Covered the five-mile course in 27:08.3 and helped UMass Lowell to second place.

Northeast-10 Womens Athlete of the Week

Nicole Plante, UMass Lowell (Sr., North Adams, MA) - Placed first and captured Runner of the Year honors at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at Bryant University. Ran the 5K course in 19:10.2 and led the UMass Lowell women to first place for the first time in school history.

Northeast-10 Womens Freshman of the Week

Emily Thomas, UMass Lowell (Fr., Foxboro, MA) - Placed sixth and was named the Freshman of the Year at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at Bryant University. Ran the 5K course in 20:12.8 and helped UMass Lowell to first place for the first time in program history

Brandon McKinnon, UMass Lowell(So.) finished 10th at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 27:26.0.

Steve Plouffe, UMass Lowell (Jr.) finished 9th at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 27:17.0.

Rex Radloff, UMass Lowell (Fr.) finished 12th at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 27:41.3.

Kelly Chaisson, Stonehill (Jr.) finished 9th at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 20:27.6.

Dana DeIngenis, Stonehill (Jr.) finished 5th at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 20:06.2.

Lauren Eynatian, Stonehill (Jr.) finished 13th at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 20:40.2.

Erin Smith, Stonehill (Sr.) finished 4th at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 19:48.4.

Bentley Senior All-America Ryan Agnew (Spencer, MA) posted his third straight top-four finish at Sunday's Northeast-10 championships, following his fourth in 2003 and third in 2004 with a second-place finish. It was the highest by a Falcon since Dan Yifru won the 2001 race. The Bentley women finished third, the fifth straight year they've been in the top threeUMass Lowell UMass Lowell swept the individual awards at the Northeast-10 Championships Sunday at Bryant University. The UML women captured the NE-10 Championship for the first time in program history. Led by junior Nicole Plante (North Adams, MA), the River Hawks scored 33 points and edged five-time champion Stonehill College by just a point. After placing second in last year's race, Plante won with a time of 19:10.2, more than 28 seconds than second-place Caitlyn Clark of Assumption. Emily Thomas (Foxboro, MA) was named the Freshman of the Year as she finished sixth in 20:12.8. UML placed six runners in thye top 16 places. On the men's side, senior Patrick Morasse (Lowell, MA) captured the individual title after placing second to teammate Chris Kapfer in last year's race. Morasse covered the five-mile course in 26:38.8 and was the third straight UML runner to win the individual title (Kapfer in 2004, Carl Mease in 2003). Ruben Sanca was named the Freshman of the Year as he took sixth in 27:08.3. UML placed seven runners among the top 18 spots, more than any school in the fieldMerrimack The Merrimack men's cross country team has been led by its two top freshmen in every race this season. Jefferson Welch (Haverhill, MA) earned Second Team All-Northeast-10 honors with a 14th place finish at the Northeast-10 Championships, while Adam Holmes (Abington, MA) earned Third Team honors with by finishing 20thStonehill The Skyhawk men successfully defended their Northeast-10 championship, as Stonehill won the team title for the second straight season, this time by a five-point margin over UMass Lowell. Six of the top seven Skyhawks earned all-conference honors, including junior Tim Catoggio (Bradford, MA) earned a spot on the third team all-conference squad. Stonehill Head Coach Karen Boen was named as the Northeast-10 Men's Coach of the Year for the second straight season, as she has earned either men's or women's Coach of the Year accolades a combined seven times over the last six seasons. Stonehill's run of five straight league titles on the women's side ended with a one-point setback to UMass Lowell for the team title, as all seven Skyhawk scorers earned all-conference honors, including sophomore Meghan Barrett (Norfolk, MA) and senior Kristen Metzger (Ellington, CT), who earned third team honors. The Metzger brother-sister combination of David and Kristen earned all-conference honors on the day, as David earned first team honors on the men's side after placing fourth.
