Joel Godett joined the NE10 staff as the Director of Strategic Communications & Digital Media on September 27, 2023. In his new role at the NE10, Godett will be responsible for directing all multimedia efforts for the conference’s 24 championship sports. He will assist in the league’s annual communications strategy on both the NE10 website and social media applications, while promoting the conference with dynamic content on NE10 NOW.
"I couldn't be more excited to be joining the staff at the NE10," said Godett. "I'm looking forward to being able to help tell the stories of our member institutions and our student-athletes, as well as the potential of NE10 NOW and where we can take our live broadcast capabilities as a league."
Godett comes to the NE10 with a deep background in broadcasting. He is a graduate of Syracuse where he completed a BS in Broadcast Journalism. He served as the Director of Broadcasting at Ball State from 2015-2022 and has broadcast games over the past 15 years for ESPN, the Big Ten Network and CBS College Sports (including work at the DII Women’s Basketball Elite Eight), covering basketball, baseball, field hockey, gymnastics and even Cross Fit. He brings experience in brand marketing, communications/media relations and content development to the NE10. Most recently, he served as a Coordinator for Brand Marketing with Panera Bread in Massachusetts where he was tasked with connecting the brand with customer engagement and sales.
His work as a broadcaster on national network outlets has reached more than 60 million homes nationwide, with his assignments including multiple national championships in basketball and gymnastics. He has also served as a broadcaster for the University of Kentucky, Eastern Michigan University, Fairleigh Dickinson University and the University of South Florida.
