UMass Lowell set to host semifinals and finals;
Bentley, Merrimack to square off in first round
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Three Northeast-10 Conference teams earned a berth to the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship field, it was announced Monday afternoon on NCAA.com.
No. 6 University of Massachusetts Lowell, fresh off its Northeast-10 Championship victory on Sunday, received a bye into the national semifinals and will host the Final Four on November 9 and 11.
No. 4 Merrimack College and No. 9 Bentley University were paired together in a first-round matchup, which will take place Saturday, Nov. 3 at Merrimack. A game time is still to be determined.
The winner will advance to play UMass Lowell in the semifinals.
Shippensburg earned a bye to the semifinals on the other side of the bracket, while West Chester and Indiana (Pa.) received first-round berths.
The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 16 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes.
