MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP

RINDGE, N.H. - For the first time in program history, American International College won the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Cross Country title.  It was a tour-de-force performance by the Yellow Jackets as they had the top three finishers in the 8K event, and six of the top eight overall.

For the third consecutive year, American Int'l's Mike Biwott won the men's race, as he traversed the difficult 8k course in a time of 26:08, some 95 seconds then runner-up and teammate Conor Cashin, who placed second. Biwott has yet to be defeated in a race so far this season.

American Int'l tied the 2002 UMass Lowell team for lowest combined score in an NE-10 Championship meet with a score of 19.

Defending champion Stonehill finished second with 52 points. Franklin Pierce, Bentley and Adelphi rounded out the top-five squads.

"It's all about the athletes today. They did everything they could and ran extremely smart and I'm extremely proud of them," said head cross country coach Leo Mayo.

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP

RINDGE, N.H. - For the sixth consecutive season, the Stonehill College Women's Cross Country team won the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, which was hosted by Franklin Pierce University today.

Stonehill was led by sophomore Nicole Borofski, who finished second overall, and the Skyhawks had three finish in the top ten and five in the top 13 overall.  Borofski covered the 5K course in Rindge in a final time of 24:33 to help lead Stonehill to the title.

It's Stonehill's 13th Northeast-10 Championship overall, and the 13 titles surpasses the mark of 12, which was held by former conference member Springfield College and obviously equaled by the Skyhawks last year.

American International College's Pascaline Jerotich was the winner of the women's race.  Jerotich won the women's event by 33 seconds, crossing the tape in 24:00. Stonehill's Borofski finished second, while Saint Michael's College Chloe Boutelle came in third (25:21).

Saint Michael's finished second as a team for the second consecutive year, while Assumption College checked in third.
