Ruppert Selected to NCAA Implementation Committee

Julie Ruppert - Implementation Committee

NCAA RELEASE

NE10 Commissioner to Continue Work Following Her Constitution Committee Appointment.

MANSFIELD, Mass. - NE10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert was recently selected as one of 28 individuals to serve on the NCAA Implementation Committee, as appointed by the Division II Administrative Committee. The Implementation Committee will be charged with leading Division II's work following an Association-wide vote on a new constitution at the 2022 NCAA Convention on Jan. 20 in Indianapolis.

Ruppert, who is currently one of five Division II representatives serving on the prestigious Constitution Committee, will continue her work on the project by helping to oversee the installment of the new constitution's policies within the Division. The Implementation Committee, co-chaired by Wisconsin-Parkside Chancellor Debbie Ford and Delta State President William LaForge, will review the Division's rules and policies and make recommendations to ensure that changes are consistent with the principles agreed upon in the new constitution. The Committee will also communicate with and gather feedback from the Division II membership, while working with Division I and Division III, as needed.

The Implementation Committee consists of one representative from all 23 Division II conferences, as well as five current and former student-athletes. Former California University of Pennsylvania volleyball student-athlete Madeleine McKenna, another member of the Constitution Committee, will be one of the five student-athlete representatives.

Division II's representation in the Constitution Committee will roll over into the Implementation Committee, as Ruppert and McKenna will be joined by Chico State President Gayle Hutchinson, Pittsburg State Director of Athletics Jim Johnson and Lincoln (Pennsylvania) Director of Athletics Harry Stinson III

The Constitution Committee will provide its final recommendations for the new constitution to the NCAA Board of Governors on Dec. 15. The Implementation Committee will begin meeting in January.
