MANSFIELD, Mass. – Bentley senior Tommy Ethier has been named the NE10 Player of the Year, while Southern New Hampshire's Jared Mscisz was selected as the Rookie of the Year, as announced by the NE10 on Wednesday afternoon. Assumption's John O'Hara was honored as the Coach of the Year for the second straight season while All-Conference Teams were also selected.
This marks the second time in the last three seasons a Falcon has earned Player of the Year honors. Ethier played ten rounds this fall in a season cut short due to COVID-19. In those ten rounds, he played six under par and had just one round over 79. He shot a season-best 69 in the second round of the Franklin Pierce Invitational and also tied for first at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout with a 140.
Mscisz was honored as the Rookie of the Year after posting an impressive 72.8 scoring average through ten rounds this fall and earning NE10 Rookie of the Week honors on four occasions. He had six rounds under par and shot a career-best 67 in the first round of the Post Invitational. Mscisz finished in the top six in four of the five tournaments in which he played this year.
O'Hara repeated as Coach of the Year after leading his Greyhounds to the program's first-ever NE10 Championship this past fall. In a weather-shortened Championship, Assumption shot a 4-over 292 to edge Southern New Hampshire by one stroke. The Greyhounds were ranked first in the region entering spring competition after also winning the Post Invitational and the Le Moyne Invitational back in the fall.
