New Haven and Pace Advance to Sunday Quarterfinals.
MANSFIELD, Mass. - New Haven, the fifth-seed from the Southwest Division, pulled-off a thrilling 88-82 double-overtime win on the road against the Northeast's fourth-seed Bentley - highlighting Friday night's first round action of the NE10 Men's Basketball Championship. Fourth-seeded Pace also denied fifth-seeded Southern New Hampshire, punching its ticket to Sunday's quarterfinals, as well.
Eight teams remain in men's basketball, as Sunday quarterfinal action will be played at 4 p.m. The matchups - Saint Anselm (NE1) vs. Pace (SW4), Le Moyne (SW1) vs. New Haven (SW5), Adelphi (NE2) vs. Franklin Pierce (NE3) and Stonehill (NE2) vs. Southern Connecticut (SW3) - will all be broadcast live on NE10NOW.tv.

WALTHAM, Mass. – It took an extra 10 minutes, but the New Haven men's basketball team will play on and head from Waltham, Mass. to Syracuse, N.Y. for a date with the NE10 Southwest No. 2 seed Le Moyne Dolphins on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. The Chargers advanced to the quarterfinal round following an 88-82 victory over Northeast No. 4 Bentley on Friday night at the Dana Center.
Leading the Chargers on the night was senior Elijah Bailey and freshman Davontrey Thomas who finished with 24 and 20 points, respectively, the latter of which set a career-high for the rookie out of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Overall, four Chargers finished in double figures with sophomore Quashawn Lane adding 14 points and redshirt junior Derrick Rowland inching closer to the 1,000 point plateau with a dozen points.
In the second overtime period, the Falcons would take the early lead with the Chargers taking their first lead in extra time on a layup from Bailey with 3:36 remaining. That lead change would turn out to be the last of the night as the Chargers extended their lead to as much as seven and never allowed Bentley closer than three which came on a three pointer from the corner off the hands of Isaac Martin with 51 seconds remaining. D'Nathan Knox would convert 3-of-4 at the free throw line in the final 11 seconds to ice the victory. The senior would close out the night with three points and a career-high seven rebounds.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - For the second straight season, the Pace men's basketball team is moving on to the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The Setters' latest triumph came over fifth-seeded Southern New Hampshire on Friday night, 90-75.
Pace will now travel to take on top-seeded Saint Anselm on Sunday at 4 p.m.
The Setters' offense was fueled by Tyrone Cohen, Jr. and Bryan Powell who each posted career-high scoring performances in a packed Goldstein Fitness Center. Cohen was especially locked in during the second half of play, dropping in 23 or his 27 total points after halftime. The senior shot nine-of-14 from the field, while sinking four three-pointers.
