Wejnert

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

First Setter to Win NE10's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Capping off one of the finest all-around careers in Pace Athletics history, Peyton Wejnert of the men's basketball team was selected as the Northeast-10 Conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday. It is the first time in school history that a Setter has earned one of the NE10's most prestigious awards.

Wejnert was simply sensational during his career in Pleasantville, combining academic excellence with superb athletic success. He was especially impressive this season, being honored as both an NE10 All-Conference First Team selection and the Met Writers Player of the Year. The New Jersey native led the entire NE10 in scoring with an average of 23.5 points per contest. He also ranked third in the conference in rebounding, while racking up 13 double-doubles throughout the year. In addition to the NE10 and MBWA honors, Wejnert was also named to the NABC's All-Region Team. The recent graduate wrapped up his illustrious tenure with more than 1700 career points and 750 career rebounds, both of which rank sixth in program history.

In terms of academic prowess, the Finance major was even more impressive. Wejnert was tabbed to his third Academic All-Conference Team this past season, while graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.9. He also earned one of the most prestigious academic awards in the country when he was voted as CoSIDA's Academic All-America of the Year. Wejnert's academic career also includes winning the 2020 NE10 Sport Excellence Award, a pair of appointments to the NABC's Honors Court and twice making his way on to the Pace Top-100 Scholars List.
