Stonehill, Adelphi Share NE10 Women's Lacrosse Regular Season Title; Skyhawks Earn Top Seed in Championship

MANSFIELD, Mass. – After clinching a share of the regular season title with Adelphi, Stonehill will enter the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship this week as the top seed – with the quarterfinal round set for Wednesday.

It is the first regular season championship for the Skyhawks since 2009. Stonehill owned the tiebreaker against Adelphi with a head-to-head win and now controls its own destiny for hosting Championship weekend on May 7-8.

Stonehill (14-2, 12-1 NE10), ranked No. 9 in the latest ILWomen/IWLCA national rankings, was undefeated in the month of April (8-0) – including ranked wins over New Haven, Pace, Adelphi and Saint Anselm – to earn the No. 1 seed in the Championship. The Skyhawks will host New Haven in the quarterfinals.

Adelphi (15-1, 12-1 NE10), the No. 2 seed in the Championship, dropped a 14-13 overtime decision on the road at Stonehill on April 23 in its only loss of the season. The Panthers win at least a share of the regular season title for the first time since 2018 and for the seventh time since joining the NE10 in 2009-10.

Le Moyne, the 2021 NE10 Southwest Division regular season champion, earns the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Southern New Hampshire, while Pace is the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 Assumption. Bentley, the No. 7 seed, will take on Adelphi.

The highest seed remaining after Wednesday's quarterfinals will host Championship weekend on Saturday and Sunday. All games throughout the Championship will be streamed on NE10NOW.tv.

*** SNHU, Bentley & New Haven all finished with a 7-6 record. Within the mini-conference, SNHU went 2-0 to earn the No. 6 seed. Bentley earned the No. 7 seed due to a head-to-head win over New Haven during the regular season.
