NE10 Adds Joel Godett to Conference Staff

Joel Godett

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Godett Named Director of Strategic Communications & Digital Media.

MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference announced on Friday its most recent addition to the league office, as it named Joel Godett as the new Director of Strategic Communications & Digital Media. Godett joins the NE10 with vast experience in college athletics, including a decade-long tenure at Ball State University as Director of Broadcasting.

Godett will be responsible for the NE10's communications efforts moving forward, which include the creation of engaging multimedia content on northeast10.org, expanding the NE10 brand on social media and overseeing the growth of NE10 NOW - the league's digital streaming platform. He will also serve as the primary media contact for 12 of the NE10's 24 sponsored sports.

"The NE10 staff has gotten stronger as a result of Joel joining our team," said NE10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert. "Joel comes to us with a deep background in broadcasting. He is a graduate of Syracuse where he completed his course work in Broadcasting Journalism. In addition to serving as Director of Broadcasting at Ball State, he has broadcast games over the past 15 years for ESPN, the Big Ten Network and CBS College Sports. He also brings experience in brand marketing, communications and content development to the NE10 and we are excited for his vision in growing NE10 NOW - which has become a major resource for our conference since its inception in the 2018-19 season. Joel will make an immediate impact in promoting our 12 institutions and exceptional student-athletes."

Most recently, Godett served as a Coordinator for Brand Marketing at Panera Bread in Massachusetts, which followed a 10-year stint at Ball State - where he served as Assistant Director of Broadcasting & Multimedia for three years before being named Director of Broadcasting in October of 2015, a post he held for seven years. He handled broadcasting, video content, podcast production, press releases and column writing, game note creation and formed relationships with local media outlets during his time at the university.

"I couldn't be more excited to be joining the staff at the NE10," said Godett. "I'm looking forward to being able to help tell the stories of our member institutions and our student-athletes, as well as the potential of NE10 NOW and where we can take our live broadcast capabilities as a league."

In addition to his full-time work, Godett has served as an on-camera broadcaster for major networks and has covered basketball, baseball, field hockey and gymnastics - including the Division II Women's Basketball Elite Eight.
