NE10 Player of the Week

Kiobel Lugo, Franklin Pierce
Junior | Infield | Boston, Mass.

In a 4-1 week for Franklin Pierce, Lugo was the standout performer at the plate - going 7-for-20 (.350) with three home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored. Five of his seven hits were for extra bases, while recording at least one hit in eeach of the five games. He had a pair of mult-hit performances in a doubleheader sweep of Bentley on Saturday, which included three home runs and eight RBI. 


NE10 Pitcher of the Week

Drew DeLucia, Franklin Pierce
Sophomore | Pitcher | Medway, Mass.

DeLucia lit it up during game one of Saturday's doubleheader with Bentley. On the mound for eight shutout innings, he tallied 11 strikeouts and kept the Falcons to just two hits which played a major part in the Ravens shutout 15-0 victory.


NE10 Rookie of the Week

Braeden Sparaco, Southern Connecticut
Freshman | Pitcher | Ivoryton, Conn.

Sparaco made three appearances out of the bullpen this week, and finished with a 1-0 record with a save, no runs allowed with eight strikeouts and three hits allowed in 7 1/3 innings pitched. Against Saint Anselm, Sparaco picked up the win to improve to 3-0 after holding the Hawks scoreless on two hits while striking out four. Against Saint Rose in a 14-8 win, Sparaco logged the last 2 2/3 innings, holding the Golden Knights to a single hit to pick up the save. He then faced the final two batters in the nightcap of that doubleheader, retiring both.


NE10 Weekly Honor Roll

Jackson Haker, American Int'l (Jr., 3B - Uxbridge, Mass.)
Haker safely reached at least twice in all four games for AIC in a 2-2 week, collecting eight hits in 14 at-bats, including three doubles, a triple, and a home run. He scored six times, drove in four, and slashed an impressive .571/.650/1.143 in a win over Bentley and a 1-2 series against Adelphi.

Jack Barry, Assumption (Sr., INF - Bridgewater, Mass.)
In three games this week, Barry hit .538/.600/.692, going 7-for-13 at the plate, with two doubles. He drove in four runs and struck out only twice. Defensively, Barry was perfect on nine chances. 

Shaun Callahan, New Haven (So., OF - Newington, Conn.)
In five games last week the Chargers outfielder finished with a .353 batting average, closing out the week with six hits in 17 at bats with seven RBI and six runs. His highlight of the week came in the Saturday divisional doubleheader at Pace where he combined to go 3-of-7 with five RBI, knocking one double in each end of the DH.

Vincent Fusco, New Haven (Fr., LHP - Fishkill, N.Y.)
In a pair of appearances on the hill last week, Fusco pitched a total of nine innings and finished with a 1-0 record and a 2.00 ERA. Overall, he surrendered two earned runs on five hits with his first outing three innings of relief against SNHU. He then picked up a victory with six innings of one run ball in a 7-1 win over Pace to close out a three-game series with the Setters.

Patrick Gleason, Pace (Sr., P - Valhalla, N.Y.)
Gleason twirled eight shutout innings in an 11-0 victory over New Haven. He only yielded four hits while sitting down four Chargers on strikes to earn his second win of the 2024 campaign.

Evan Balian, Saint Michael's (Jr., C - Lynnfield, Mass.)
Balian slashed .600/1.400/.714 from the heart of the order during a three-game weekend series victory over Saint Anselm. He was 6-for-10 with six runs, five RBI, two doubles, two home runs, three walks and a hit-by-pitch while splitting time between catcher and designated hitter. 

Keegan Burke, Saint Michael's (So., RHP - Amherst, N.H.)
Burke allowed one run on four hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over 7.2 innings while earning the victory in a 5-3 win against Saint Anselm on Friday. He finished with a 1.17 game ERA and .148 opposing batting average.

Nathan Toms, Saint Rose (Sr., 1B - Albany, N.Y.)
Toms hit .571 (8-for-14) and drove in six runs for Saint Rose across a three-game series with Southern Connecticut. Toms logged four-hit, three-RBI performances in two of the contests.

Mike Talavera, Southern Conn. St. (Jr., IF/OF - Waterford, N.Y.)
In a 3-2 week, Talavera batted slashed .353/.478/.647 totaling a home run, two doubles, three RBI, six runs scored and six stolen bases. Against Saint Anselm in a 9-3 week, Talavera hit his first home run as an Owl and finished with two hits in the doubleheader. Against Saint Anselm in a wild 19-14 loss, Talavera was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. In the first game of a doubleheader against Saint Rose, a 14-8 win, Talavera walked twice and totaled two stolen bases. In the nightcap, he was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored and three stolen bases. While Talavera saw an eight-game hitting streak end, he has now reached base safely in 19 straight games.

Parker Lendrum, Southern N.H. (So., P - Exeter, N.H.)
Over two appearances in a 2-2 week for SNHU, Lendrum went 1-0 with a save and a 2.00 ERA, as he allowed six runs - two earned - on 11 hits, while striking out three and walking a pair, in nine innings. Lendrum earned the win in an 11-6 game-two victory at New Haven on Monday, as he relinquished six runs - two earned - on eight hits over six innings, while punching out two and walking two. He came back Saturday and picked up the save with three shutout innings, giving up just three hits and fanning one, in a 7-2 victory in the second game of a doubleheader with Assumption.
