NE10 Player of the Week
Cole Maucere, New Haven
Junior | Outfield | West Babylon, N.Y.
Playing in two of the three games this past weekend against Saint Rose, Maucere finished with a team-high .625 batting average while driving in a team-best five runs. For the weekend, he finished five-of-eight at the plate with a pair of runs scored and one of those five hits sailing over the fence in right field for his third home run of the season which is the second most on the team. Four of his five RBI came in the Chargers 10-6 comeback win over Saint Rose on Sunday to complete the three-game sweep of the divisional foe. His slash line for the week - .625/.625/1.000.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Patrick Gleason, Pace
Graduate Student | Pitcher | Valhalla, N.Y.
Gleason pitched a nine-inning, complete-game shutout against American International on Sunday. He struck out 10 batters while allowing two walks and only one hit in a 1-0 win for Pace.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Joseph Frazzetta, New Haven
Freshman | Third Base | Howard Beach, N.Y.
In the three games this past week, a sweep of Saint Rose, Frazzetta finished with a .333 batting average as he collected four hits in 12 at-bats with a pair of doubles, three RBI and two runs scored. All three of his RBI came in a two-game sweep of Saint Rose on Saturday, two in the opening game and one more in the night cap, in which he finished 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Tim Krol, American Int'l (Gr., RHP - East Longmeadow, Mass.)
Krol put together a dominant outing against Pace on Sunday, twirling seven innings of one-run ball in his first start. He fanned nine and allowed just four Setters to reach base.
Josh Miller, Pace (Jr., OF - Clifton, N.J.)
In a 4-0 week, Miller hit .438 (7-for-16) while knocking in a team-high five RBIs. The junior recorded three extra-base hits in four starts while going 2-2 in stolen base attempts.
Jack Drewry, Southern Connecticut (Jr., 1B/P - Wolcott, Conn.)
Drewry slashed .417/.500/.750 after going 5-for-12 in a three-game set against Adelphi in which the Owls took two-of-three against the Panthers. Drewry also homered once and drove in a team-leading seven runs in three games. He was 1-for-4 in a 4-1 loss in the first game of the series, driving in Southern's only run. He followed with a 3-for-4 showing in the second game of the doubleheader including a grand slam in a 10-0 win. On Sunday in a 15-4 win, Drewry was 1-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Steve Phillips, Southern Conn. St. (Jr., LHP - Watertown, Conn.)
Phillips was masterful in the second game of the Owls' twin bill against Adelphi, a 10-0 win. The Owls' senior lefty spun seven scoreless innings while holding Adelphi to three hits and striking out a season-high 10. After an error allowed a runner on base in the first, Phillips sat down 17 of the next 19 batters he faced. In the seventh, he gave up a single between a pair of pop-outs before hitting a batter, which marked the first time in the game that Adelphi had multiple runners on base. He then struck out the last batter he faced.
Parker Lendrum, Southern N.H. (So., P - Exeter, N.H.)
Lendrum tossed a complete game in Sunday's 4-1 win in the second game of a doubleheader at Bentley. Over nine innings, Lendrum allowed just one run on six hits, while punching out six and walking one.
Harry Vargas Segura, Southern N.H. (Jr., OF - Bronx, N.Y.)
Vargas Segura hit .385 (5-13) with a home run, three RBI, four runs, two walks and a pair of stolen bases, during a 3-0 week for the Penmen. Vargas Segura went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, two runs and a steal in Monday's 4-3 victory against Assumption. He knocked in or scored all four runs, including an RBI walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth.
