NE10 Offensive Player of the Week
Mark Waid, Bentley
Graduate Student | Quarterback | Cortland, Ohio
Waid threw for a season-best 263 yards on 19-of-31 passing, while leading all players in rushing yards with 105 during Bentley's 31-6 win over Assumption. One of his three passing touchdowns was an 86-yard connection with Abel Lopes Jr. and he added another touchdown on a three-yard rush.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Taylor Pawelkoski, Saint Anselm
Senior | Linebacker | Bradenton, Fla.
Pawelkoski tied his career-best of 11 tackles against Franklin Pierce on Saturday to help Saint Anselm secure the 24-17 victory over the Ravens. He made two sacks for nine yards, his third two-sack game as a Hawk, and recorded a forced fumble in the Senior Day game.
NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week
Dev Holmes, New Haven
Senior | Wide Receiver | Troy, N.Y.
A return specialist for the Chargers, Holmes racked up 141 yards on four punt returns, including a pair of 50+ yard returns, with his longest of the day going 62 yards and setting up the first points of the day, a field goal that made it 3-0. His second longest run went for 54 yards and also resulted in a Charger touchdown. In addition to his special teams play, Holmes also finished with 82 receiving yards on three catches, which includes a 76-yard TD haul.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Owen Fitzgerald, Assumption
Sophomore (Rookie Eligible) | Linebacker | Auburn, Mass.
Fitzgerald recorded his third 10+ tackle performance of the year as he racked up ten at Bentley on Saturday. He also added one tackle for a loss, one quarterback hurry, and one pass breakup to his stat line.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Nevin Earl, American Int'l (So., DL - Paterson, N.J.)
Earl had a solid day on the defensive line, helping limit the Eagles with a pair of sacks that cost Post 17 yards and helped AIC to a 41-17 win.
Sidiki Kone, American Int'l (Jr., RB - Bronx, N.Y.)
Kone had a dominant showing in AIC's 41-17 win against Post, averaging nearly nine yards per carry as he broke out for 143 yards and three touchdowns on just 16 carries as part of an AIC offensive attack that accumulated almost 300 yards on the ground.
Joseph MacDougall, Assumption (Sr., DL - Kittery, Me.)
MacDougall continued to increase his nation's leading sixth blocked kick of the year, as he recorded a field goal block on Bentley's 31-yard attempt in the second quarter. He is just one block kick from tying the NE10 record for TEAM blocked kicks in a season, which was set by the Greyhounds in 2007.
Lorenzo Valencia, Assumption (Sr., LB - Ruskin, Fla.)
Valencia was all over the field for Assumption at Bentley. He racked up a game-high 17 tackles, which included two for a loss, and also had an interception. Valencia currently ranks second in the NE10 with 82.0 tackles and forced fumbles (3).
Tajon Vassar, Bentley (Gr., DB - Worcester, Mass.)
Vassar had two interceptions in Bentley's blowout win over Assumption. He is tied for the NE10 lead with five interceptions this season.
Geno Facchetti, Franklin Pierce (So., LB - Wilbraham, Mass.)
Facchetti had a major impact defensively for the Ravens this week, tallying 9 tackles, two assists, a sack and a force fumble.
Christopher Ais, New Haven (Jr., RB - Stoughton, Mass.)
Ais led New Haven's offense in amassing 312 total yards with his game-high 110 rushing yards which came on 17 attempts with his longest run of the day going for 31 yards. He also lost just four yards total on the day. Overall, he averaged 6.5 yards per attempts, while he also added five yards on a pair of receptions.
Jacob Liebert, Pace (Gr., LB - Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.)
Liebert stepped in during the second half vs. New Haven to fill in as punter and in five punts, netted 202 yards for an average of 40.4 yards including three inside the 20, with them landing on the nine, two and one yard lines.
Cooper Estes, Saint Anselm (Jr., RB - Hingham, Mass.)
Estes posted his second block of the season against Franklin Pierce on Saturday. He blocked a punt attempt and would return the ball seven yards for a Hawk touchdown, his first career touchdown for Saint Anselm to help the team secure the 24-17 win over the Ravens.
Carson Goda, Saint Anselm (Jr., TE - Bradenton, Fla.)
Goda reeled in his fifth touchdown of the season during Saturday's 24-17 win over Franklin Pierce. He tallied eight receptions for 109 yards along with the longest catch of the day for the Hawks at 31-yards. Goda currently ranks second in the conference in both total receptions (48) and total receiving yards (566).
