DON HANSEN ALL-AMERICA RELEASE

Six NE10 Players Earn Honorable Mention Selections.

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Bentley linebacker Salvatore Lupoli, Jr. was named to the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Second Team on Monday, adding to his collection of postseason honors - which include AFCA First Team All-America, D2CCA Second Team All-America and Northeast-10 Conference Most Valuable Player.

Lupoli, Jr. led all Division II players in tackles per game (12.3) as part of Bentley's top-five scoring defense. He recorded 123 tackles in 10 games - 47 solo and 76 assisted - on his way to other honors such as the D2CCA All-Super Region 1 Team and the All-New England Team. He is the only NE10 player to be selected to the Don Hansen All-America Team, with six others earning Honorable Mention.

Assumption's Tom MacDonald was the NE10's Offensive Lineman of the Year, while New Haven's Dev Holmes was the NE10's Offensive Player of the Year - as well as a two-time First Team All-Conference selection at wide receiver and return specialist. A pair of tight ends - New Haven's Kevin Foelsch and Saint Anselm's Carson Goda - earned Honorable Mention, in addition to Bentley's Tajon Vassar (return specialist) and Southern Connecticut's Tylon Papallo (wide receiver).

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of longtime small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at the age of 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.
