Adelphi to face top-seeded LIU Post Friday,
Stonehill to travel to second-seeded Merrimack

Fourth-seeded Adelphi University earned a 2-1 overtime win over fifth-seeded Bentley University Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey Championship, while third-seeded Stonehill College raced past sixth-seeded Southern Connecticut State University, 5-0, Tuesday night.

Adelphi advances to the semifinals where it will travel to crosstown foe and top-seeded LIU Post Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Stonehill moves on to face second-seeded Merrimack College on Friday at 4:00 p.m.

The winner of each contest will advance to Sunday's championship contest.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Adelphi mustered 14 shots on goal to Bentley's two en route to the victory, with sophomore Molly Cuevas finding the back of the cage in overtime to nail down the win.

After Bentley's Meghan Talerman gave Bentley a 1-0 lead 14:34 into the contest, Panthers' s
ophomore Kristen Bagley tied it at 1-1 with a goal early in the second half. Adelphi goalkeeper Kelly Serrao made one stop in the victory, while Bentley's Katie Kelley collected 12 saves in the loss.

#3 Stonehill 5, #6 Southern Connecticut 0 | BOX
EASTON, Mass. –
The Skyhawks scored all five of their goals in the first half en route to their first-round victory over visiting So. Connecticut, while limiting the Owls to nine shots in the win. Kelly Gouveia scored the first two goals just 26 seconds apart six minutes in, which was followed by an Emily Sideris tally to make it a three-goal lead. Erika Kelly also scored twice, her goals just 49 seconds apart, to make it 5-0 late in the first half.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes. Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
