18 Student-Athletes and Six Teams Recognized for Academic Success.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northeast-10 Conference had 18 student-athletes recently named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court and six teams honored with NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards, proving their commitment to the classroom as well as the court.

Pace and Stonehill each had a league-best four individuals recognized by the Honors Court – including NE10 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Peyton Wejnert, and NE10 Player of the Year, Will Moreton, respectively. For a complete list of individual honorees, please see below.

Additionally, six programs earned Team Academic Excellence Awards for their program-wide commitment to academic success: Adelphi, Bentley, New Haven, Pace, Saint Rose and Stonehill.

The NABC recognized more than 1,350 men's collegiate basketball student-athletes this year for the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. To be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet the following qualifications:

  • Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2019-20 academic year.
  • Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  • Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

To earn a Team Academic Excellence Award, a team must post a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season, counting the grades of all student-athletes who competed during the season.

The NE10 saw an increase in both the NABC Honors Court and Team Academic Excellence Award recipients this year, after having 15 individuals and three teams recognized following the 2018-19 season.
