IWLCA RELEASE

Pace Won First NCAA Title in Program History.

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Head coach Tricia Molfetta, assistant coach Melissa Alamprese and volunteer assistant coach Rob Molfetta of the Pace women's lacrosse program have been selected as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Coaching Staff of the Year, following the Setters' first-ever NCAA Championship title in school history in the 2023 season.

With Molfetta in her sixth season at Pace, the Setters defeated top-seeded West Chester, 19-9, to claim the national championship and finished the season with a near-perfect 21-2 record. Pace tallied 15 wins over ranked opponents this season, including an undefeated mark of 12-0 in NE10 play to capture its first regular season title.

Ranked No. 2 in the IWLCA Poll for the majority of the season, Pace won the East Regional Championship with a 14-5 victory over Adelphi - which catapulted the Setters into the national semifinals, where they cruised past Florida Southern, 22-11, to advance to the championship game. Following its successful claim for the NCAA title, Pace finished the season with a No. 1 ranking in the poll.

Molfetta was named NE10 Coach of the Year for the first time in her career. She led a team that had five All-Americans, including the Division II Player and Midfielder of the Year in Angelina Porcello and the Division II Attacker of the Year with Aleya Corretjer

Pace became the 10th NE10 women's lacrosse program to capture an NCAA title, joining Adelphi, Le Moyne and Stonehill with the distinction.
