Pace's Kayla Conway Wins Prestigious 2022-23 NE10 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award

Conway is First Pace Athlete to Win the Honor.


PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pace University Women's Lacrosse senior Kayla Conway was voted the Northeast-10 Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the 2022-23 season, as announced by the league at the annual end of year banquet on Sunday night at the campus of Pace University. 

Conway becomes the first female scholar-athlete for Pace University to win the prestigious conference accolade. The NE10 Co-Midfielder of the Year was also named MVP of the NCAA Tournament just two weeks ago as the Setters won their first-ever NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship with a dominant performance against West Chester. 

Conway finished her MBA this spring with a semester GPA of 3.88. She boasts a graduate GPA of 3.89 and an undergraduate GPA of 3.83 with a degree in public accounting. The Wantagh, N.Y. native was an IWLCA First Team All-American and USA Lacrosse Magazine Second Team All-American in addition to NE10 First Team accolades for the third time and All-Region First Team honors.

She was named CSC Academic All-District and was a member of the NE10 All-Championship Team.

For her career, Conway is a two-time NE10 Academic All-Conference team selection in addition to two-time CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-District. She has also been named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll in 2021 and 2022 and most recently played in the IWLCA Senior All Star Game. Conway was also named Pace University Athletic Department's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 

The NE10 banquet returned to an in-person event this year for the first time since 2019. The award winners and their families were invited as well as administrators and coaches from all the NE10 member institutions. The banquet kicked off two days worth of annual meetings for the conference office. 

Pace University has had one pevious student-athlete win the NE10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Setter men's basketball player  Peyton Wejnert won it in 2019-20.
