Klammer Sweeps National Player of the Year Honors.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Rose's Mia Klammer - the nation's leader in scoring - completed a clean sweep of Division II National Player of the Year honors in the 2023 season, as United Soccer Coaches announced their Division II and III winners on Tuesday. Klammer was also named the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Ron Lenz Player of the Year last week.

Klammer recorded 53 points (18 goals, 17 assists), the most among all Division II players, in her junior season with the Golden Knights. She helped Saint Rose win the NE10 Women's Soccer Championship for the fourth-consecutive season and for a record 11th time in program history, while leading the team to an unbeaten record of 20-0-2 - the first team in Saint Rose program history to register at least 20 wins without a defeat.

She becomes the second player in Saint Rose women's soccer history to earn National Player of the Year, following Carmelina Puopolo in 2011 and 2012. The Golden Knights last won the NCAA Division II Championship in 2011.

Klammer, the NE10 Player of the Year, led the conference this season in goals (18), assists (17) and points (53) - including 11 games with multiple points scored. Her most dominant performance of the season was a nine-point effort (four goals, one assist) in a 7-2 win over Saint Anselm on Oct. 7. She went on to earn the honor of Most Outstanding Player at the NE10 Championship following a five-point performance (two goals, one assist) in a 4-1 victory over Adelphi in the conference final.

"Mia Klammer is not only an incredible athlete and student, but she is a remarkable human being," said Lori Anctil, Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics at Saint Rose following her D2CCA honor last week. "I am thrilled that her work ethic, relentless competitive spirit, commitment, and exceptional talent is being honored with this most prestigious award. Mia is the kind of student-athlete that every coach, teammate and administrator would dream of having in their program. I cannot wait to see what is next for her. I know her opportunities are endless."
