Greyhounds Shoot One-Over in Final Round to Win League Title.

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – The Assumption men's golf program combined to shoot a one-over par (289) and overcame a five-stroke deficit in Monday's final round to win the Northeast-10 Conference Championship - its second-straight league title - at the En-Joie Golf Club. It is Assumption's third championship in the past four seasons.

Sophomore Jack Moy highlighted the Greyhounds' comeback with a final round score of five-under, 67, one shot off the NE10 Championship record for a single round. Overall, Moy finished third with a two-over (218) for the Championship, while teammates Mitchell Tarrio tied for fourth at three-over (219) and Sean Magarian placed sixth at four-over (220). Moy and Tarrio both earned places on the NE10 All-Championship Team.

The Greyhounds finished the Championship at 21-over par (885), edging second-place Southern New Hampshire by four strokes (+25) and third-place Le Moyne by eight strokes (+29). Franklin Pierce (+36) and Adelphi (+37) rounded-out the top five, respectively.

Entering into the final day of the 54-hole tournament, Assumption sat in third place and trailed first-place Southern New Hampshire by five shots. Behind Moy's tournament-best round, as well as Tarrio's even-par (72) and Magarian's two-over (74), the Greyhounds surpassed SNHU and Le Moyne for the title on Monday.

Assumption led all NE10 programs with 167 pars throughout the Championship, as well as average score on Par 4 holes (4.19). Le Moyne had a tournament-best 38 birdies as a team, led by junior Tyler Birdd who recorded 16 for the Dolphins. Birdd was the winner of the Gordon McCullough Memorial Award as the Championship's individual medalist with his final score of two-under (214), edging Franklin Pierce's Seth Saffell by two strokes.

Six different programs were represented in the top-10 on the individual leaderboard. Bentley's Nelson Eaton, who finished tied for 10th, was named the NE10 Elite 24 Award winner with his 3.970 GPA as a Finance major. The Elite 24 honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site of each NE10 Championship.
