NE10 Player of the Week
Lucas Dascoli, Saint Anselm
Senior | Everett, Mass.
Dascoli aided the Hawks to their first tournament win since the 2018 season at the Golden Knights Orlando Invitational. The senior posted rounds of 77 and, his collegiate best, 69, to place third in the event individually on Mar. 27 and Mar. 28. He later posted the top score in a dual match with Southern N.H. on Apr. 4, aiding the Hawks to a 298-298 tie after firing off a round of 72.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Seth Saffell, Franklin Pierce
Freshman | Castro Valley, Calif.
Saffell finished 1st-overall at this past week's American International Yellow Jacket Invitational, claiming his first collegiate tournament win after turning in a combined two-round score of 139 (70-69) to shoot -1 down the stretch. The score was also a career personal-best for Saffell.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Filip Wetterqvist, Adelphi (Sr. - Stockholm, Sweden)
Led all scorers for the Panthers with a 148 at the STAC Spartan Shootout. He finished in a five-way tie for second place at 4-over. Wetterqvist sat at at 2-under through his first nine holes of the tournament, after sinking four birdies. He hung right around par on both days of the Yellow Jacket Invitational and finished in a tie for seventh among a field of 55 golfers with a 145.
Johnny Gruninger, Le Moyne College (So. - Syracuse, N.Y.)
Gruninger has a pair of top-10 finishes, including a tie for first, with a scoring average of 70.6 over five rounds in Le Moyne's two events this month. He tied for ninth place among 81 competitors with a 212 off rounds of 74, 68 and 70 at The Battle at the Shores on April 3 and 4. He then finished in a three-way tie for first place at the Mike Bello Invitational on Sunday and Monday with a 141 off rounds of 71 and 70 to lead the Dolphins to a first-place team finish.
Matt Conti, Southern New Hampshire University (Sr. - Walpole, Mass.)
Conti finished second with a 73 - one stroke off the pace - in Tuesday's dual match with Saint Anselm at Candia Woods Golf Links. The Penmen and Hawks finished tied at 298.
